Well i have talked to atleast 10 or 15 people hat say they will NEVER play here again because they dn't like the way things are going here so I'm sure that would bring it up a bit. But you just won't understand i dont think until there is no players recruitment or not so i will let it go for now and we will see.

It would seem your poll is saying otherwise in the grand scheme of things, Belg.

But come on now GMbob is the case officially closed on Magery gain? I really think it should be lightened up just a tad...

EDIT: OK, after some testing, I've narrowed down why the current magery gain is a problem.

My magery is currently 65.3

I cast explosion many, many times over my last few sessions playing.. never a gain. Using .skilltest today I discover that explosion is "too easy so not gaining".

So, let's go one circle higher... cast Flamestrike. "That spell is beyond your ability."

So... how exactly am I supposed to train magery?

I was a little surprised at the results myself but it is the amount of votes that tell me more of what i wanted to know than the results themselves.

Wizard - I'll take a look this evening. I had hoped people would have used skilltest before posting, if skilltest is saying it's bad then that means something might be bugged. I'll look into the rest of it when magery get's it's update/check here after the craft patch is finished. That is concerning in how that works, it might be calculating spells wrong.

That being said a few of the spells are going ot get updates to make them comply more with obsidian rather than make them either disabled or worthless (mana vampire/mind blast come to mind). Also magic lock/unlock

Also here's a status cap for you. This isn't uncommon and happens almost every evening(server time). It may look weird because it's the new status system w/ guild/player/etc data integrated. Count it as a sneak peak

Do you think 10 people is glorious? There all crafters, all they do is banksit and do nothing, this is the most boring time ever I have seen in my almost 3 years of playing obsidian. I miss the old days when we didn't have to put up with this bullshit every day, either a rollback, gigantic lag spikes, I can't even run without lagging, you changing shit all the time, it's not how it used to be and I wish it was, but it will probably never be now.

yeah, you only had 7 people on during peak if anyone even logged on at all, you had massive bug abuse, as well as most people not bothering to make anything because the economy was so in the shitter people were paying 50 for 1 nightshade. :P

Funny how people remember things through rose-colored glasses.

What are you talking about? And why do you always change the subject, are you going through a phase or something, because if so you need to hurry up and kick it into gear and realize what's going on.

Enough talking bullshit. You're a fool for the way you're behaving and you're a fool for not treating others with a bit of respect when all they're trying to do is improve a game that you seem to care so little for now.

I've had it with your blatant lack of regard for everyone you deal with. Next piece of shit post you decide to publish will be your last.

Bob's not causing the lag, nor did he cause people to cheat and abuse bugs. Stop blaming him for these problems and put a sock in it.
Spend less time talking trash and more time doing some work for the greater good on Obsidian.

If it were up to me I would have kept your stupid arse from posting on the forums ever again and put a permanant gag on you ingame. So I suggest you be nice to Bob before I just decide to snap and remove every last trace of your pathetic ramblings from these forums.

He just came back from a weeks suspension that I gave him, and clearly hasn't learned, so he is now banned from the forums permanently.

 I havn't used that .skilltest too much. But I was playing around with it a little bit before in the same way...

My mage's skill is at 99.4 and i can only remember gaining once since all the upgrades and whatnot, so it cannot all be bad and at least it did gain. Now obviously with my skill being higher there are plenty of spells that are going to give the "too easy so not gaining" message. But using some of the higher circle spells (8th - Summon Vortex, Air/Earth/Fire Ele's etc) I am actually getting no message what so ever, so i don't know if it is doing good, bad, or absolutely nothing. Unless it fizzle's, in which case it again says "too easy so not gaining" or however the message reads exactly. Any ideas what effect this is having?

i think if you get no message while running skilltest that means the spell has a chance to gain.

alright well i'm getting conflicting reports here, so everyone test skilltest and if you find that you cannot train on any spells, post here with the character and i'll take a look.

I want to narrow this down to either people using spells and not checking skilltest to see if they have a chance to gain (possible), or some skill level being untrainable/bugged.
