 Post subject: 2 things about archery

very simple
1) heavy crossbows shoot a shorter distance than bows. imo they should shoot farther.
2) the crossbow and heavy crossbow animation shows a bow being shot.

And gains are mighty slow...but thats ok if its at the correct lvls...just seems slower than other weps.

im pretty sure that traditionally the long bow shot the farthest but the crossbow packed the most punch (correct me if im wrong please) so it would make since that the crossbow does more damage but has a shorter range then the other bows.

btw it looks like this just magic hvy xbows have the screwed up animation havent checked xbows thouth magic or otherwise....

another thing thats been bothering me about archery is the fact you cant shoot and move anymore when on a horse... wtf is up with that? not like it isnt realistic or anything...

and one more thing is xbows of ruin are not IDable they arent that color of an unIDed weapon just normal color.......

Agreed. When I go hunting its rather irritating not being able to shoot and run so you dont get poisoned.

i think that was done to stop ppl from just running without stoping for an opponent with no range wepon, and just running around lawl, would be hella powerfull... unless when running ur accuracy was reduced / damage is reduced

Well personally I would like to see it back to the t3a version. Its already hard for a warrior or a tank to
attack a mage that runs around. Archery was always like a magical bullet that any warrior could run around
and still be able to damage a mage, the same way a mage can damage from a distance.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but in T3A I'm almost positive that you could not shoot a bow while running....you had to be standing still....mages, however, could cast while running.

....but bows had instahit back then, and that seams to be missing now...one of the things i enjoyed doing was attacking a person, then then running behind a wall before a bow shot got off....the instant the person I attacked was in LOS I shot an arrow....under the current system, as soon as my target is in LOS, the bow counter starts and I have to wait a second or 2 to get a shot off....it's not a big deal, but it's one of the small things that adds to the feel of the game.

yea azi the instahit thing is gone but you were able to run and shoot on a horse accuracy was reduced but it evened things out from a moving mage specially since mages can cast farther than any bow can shoot which i think is stupid...

ya u could run and shoot but everytime u shot, there was no animation for running and shooting so the character stops for a split second to shoot lawl

i dont remember that but nnyeh it was still a nice function since it meant you could shoot at a mage moving out of range from the bow but not from casting their spell....
