Alright i have these 2 ideas that could be quite interesting.

First,lets say you buy a giant house,like a tower or something,but you feel like opening a business or somewhat.You decide to make a bank for example,but you need to have a different key for every door in the building,so that way,a player would pay you 20k lets say to buy the keys off of you,for that one door,you no longer have access,but the player now has a nice bank were he can place his stuff,without having to buy a house himself.This could be interesting for tinkerers as well,who could copy your key,or make these specials doors. anyways that my first idea:)

Second,I think that every town should have elections,or wars,in which one person would either be a diplomat or a warlord,and would lead the town.Depending on what territory your in,your taxed but it is the governor that chooses,the taxe percentages and rates.Why should he choose to do so?well a player could then run player owned stores.Why wouldnt a player just take the town with the lowest tax rates?Its easy,the taxes would serve to pay the guards, who protect the town,from outside invaders:pkers,enemy factions and so on.Why more popular and merchant towns would have higher rates,because a part of the sales go to the governement of each town.So basically each town would have its own military service,but who is payed with the taxes.anyways id like to hear your ideas concerning mine:)

just thought it,through looking through other posts,the taxes could allow you to pay and hire mercenaries,professional armies...and stuff to conquer other lands:)
being a citizen would also allow you exclusive acces to the town while others have to infiltrate in. except for maybe one town.

i dont think there should be elections, just have guilds being able to fight over towns would be bad ass, the best guild could have the most ballin town. and the guildleader taking taxes to pay for mercs/guards to guard houses and stores in their town would be sweet to

it would change the game alot to a more strategical type thing and it would have cool politics

the bank thing sounds pretty cool to but i just dont think this shard has enough of a player base or gms with time for these ideas atm

We have that it is called bucs den and there is a guildhouse there and everything it needs to be fixed tho.

Here we go again...

Let's not get into that argument. It's been many years arguing over the "right" certain guilds were just "given". (Who gave it to them? Who made sure they kept it? Those questions remain obscure)

Nevertheless, it's a good idea so guilds have a FAIR way to fight over things... But it would be hard, seeing that some guilds have within their members obscure characters.

Actually bucs den has changed hands a few times in the years i have been here and it was always fought for and never just given. But the point is it is exactly what he is talking about a town that can be fought for.

If I remember right, bucks den was originally a bribe by GM CyberVic as incentive for some past players to come back to obsidian and form a superguild, AKA, "The Returners". That was way back in 2004?ish....

That lasted a few months, then it started changing hands....until it landed in the current ownership where it has been for the last few years.

You all are good for predicting what i have in the works.

Most of what was discussed here is part of the army warfare patch that is going in way in the future. Hopefully sooner, i just want to get major stuff done before i resume work on that project.

However, the buc's den control patch was gonna go in next week, but since this thread seemed to get a lot of interest, i went ahead and finished it up tonight early.

bob, question, if we bring bears to the nexus and attack it do the bears get the damage our the character / guild the characters bears belong to get the damage?

also does this nexus smack back? or cast back? do we have to do damage or kill it and the one with the most damage gets it? or both
