I am not sure if this is impossible, but I (and others im sure) really enjoyed the old system, and I am wondering if the scripts that were in place in T3A could be set again. this would put mages on top again but I think that system could be tweaked to give warriors more benefits, balancing pvp. Even if the system currently in place was to become balanced, I dont believe it could be as good as it once was before.

If enough players are in favor of this perhaps it could be back to how it was.

I agree i like the old system better as well, but this has been tried over and over and i am afraid you are beating a dead horse my friend.

Things are slowly going back to how they were, but the old scripts are not compatible with this new server version. Some things were rewritten to replace the old scripts as soon as the upgrade took place, but the majority has to be found and rewritten as it comes up. If you have something specific that you would like to see changed to how it was, I'm sure bob will take it under consideration.

I have no idea what scripting is like but it is impossible to put a few aspects back to how they were? the old anat system was great to me as it set pvmers and pvpers apart. Is that able to be put back to how it was?

If you are talking about curing poison with bandies i don't think that has anything to do with anat any more. It is just the way healing is, or are you refering to training anat?

meh things in the old system like timers and stuff I've noticed have changed, from not working to working, I think when bob puts the old scripts in or what is equivalent to the old scripts we see how the old scripts were intended to work
but i can be wrong :)

Well I thought anat above 60 is was caused you to cure poisen and still heal, like they had it before, just with much less downside.

Before it was like that but now i think, you might check with Bob, but curing poison now has to do with your healing skill or just does it automatically. The reason everyone kept it at 60 before is because over 60 anat you would cure ibut not heal at the same time so the easiest way to kill someone with gm anat was to keep spamming poison.

"I like the old system" tells me jack shit.
Literally.

Because it's not just scripts that have changed. Scripts i can rewrite and make work.
But a LOT of the internals changed and almost no one knows how they used to be or even how they are now. I have approximated most of the formulas as close as i can with testing, but some are still not done.

So saying "make it like it was" without telling me what it was, does nothing.
Saying "I think melee weapons are a bit too strong" is useful because that i can adjust and fix.
Saying "I think armor is absorbing a bit too much damage" is useful, because i can adjust and fix.
Saying "I think polearms do too much damage for the extra range", is useful because I can adjust and fix.

I'm not ignoring people. It's the fact that you make suggestions that have NO USEFUL INFORMATION that i ignore.
If people really preferred the old healing system, i can put it back, or at least parts of it. Parts of it were statistically broken(easily abused). So far i've heard mostly positive about the new system(after the 2 week bitchfest that all patches get when put in) so i've been leaving it in. I am considering altering a few weapon damage formulas later this week, gathering a bit more data first.

So in summary:

If you want it like it was, start pointing out EXACTLY what's different and how you think it could be changed.

Bob, perhaps you'd like to spar... You can make a 100% gm mage with the regular skills and fight my warrior... Or you can make a warrior and fight my mage... Get some first-hand info if you know what I mean. Or you can fight anyone who volunteers. I assure you you will see what we mean by unbalanced. It's hard to remember how things are and, on top of that, to suggest what changes to get there.

Yeah no.
I'm not saying they're balanced. So quit putting words in my mouth.
I'm saying that people saying fix it is worthless without suggesting things to fix.
I'll fix stuff over time as i find it AND i figure out solutions to make it better.

And i do run comparisons vs t3a. I have t3a still loaded on a test shard for data purposes so i can use it to help figure out older formulas when i need them. That's why i say when people are remembering things wrong, because i do check. :)
