Sometimes the Obsidian client will stop responding when logging in, causing me to have to close the program and try again. After a number of tries I may be able to get into the server, but this has become frustrating. I checked the troubleshooting and didn't see any mention of this and was wondering if others have experienced the same problem. Thanks for your time and help.

This is part of the Obsidian program unfortunately. Almost everyone, if not all, has this problem. You usually just have to wait about 10-20 minutes before trying to log back in. I know that some people just restart their computer, and then you will be able to log back in. My reccomendation is when you log out of Obsidian, don't close the program after you log out, just minimize it. In my case, doing this let's me avoid having to wait to log back in.
