I don't want to roll over BB's post so I will make this very short. There are 2 known bugs that have always existed since the existance of stat potions. Keep these known bugs in mind before using a stat potion because we WILL NOT fix your stats if you lose stats due to one of these two bugs.

1. You use a stat potion and your total stats are over the cap for your race and then you start to lose -1 to stats during the duration of that potion being in effect

2. You use a stat potion that raises one stat over 200. During garbage collection, the server looks for players with over 200 in a stat and assumes that this normally impossible so it assumes hacking and therefore gives you -100 in that stat that is over 200.

Just to clarify point two...Does this occur if you hit 200 in a stat or only when you hit 201...?

Vic i dont wanna sound negative but this stat cap thing, the random losses you mentioned, as well as the new "pots only" method of staying under cap, in my opionion is negatively affecting the shard.

personally, i use the temp pots often, go well over the total stat cap, and have never had a single loss from it. so they work well for me. and also i have little trouble keeping -intel pots since my guild has like 3 gm alchemists and i have a fighter that can get his share of regs to make them pretty easily. what im saying is im not complaining im just concerned. people have left for good, others are unhappy or simply frustrated. i think maybe there should be a change in stat management.
i dont know what if you just stopped once you got to the cap is that possible? you would still need -stat pots if you wanted to reshape your stats but if you have your stats the way you want then you can just leave it alone and do what we all log on intending to do, play the game.

i know that wont make nearly as much money for my friends who have gm alchemists but you know what i bet they wouldnt mind since theyd be free of the stat management headache of their own fighters and theyd still sell pots to pple who are at cap but dont have stats shaped the way they want yet.

either way ill deal with it as i always have. thank you for helping all of us so much.

i am with drizzt on this one, and I anm one of those gm alchemists. yes i could make lots of money selling the pots, but im finding im ever more reliant on them myself. Its bad enough having to hunt reghs formyself for that pots, but when u get 5 or 6 ppl asking u each day for pots too u cant help but feel cocerned.
Alchemists already can amke good money from selling G heals,a dn G mana and ewalls etc...........and as drizzt said, it could be modified to keep ur stats set once u reach the cap. i think that would be awesome.

I'm not saying this issue isn't something that both BB and I would like fixed. The BUG will hopefully be fixed, but we are not goign to go out of our way fixing people who've lost stats to this bug. It's a lot of work and pretty much in ALL cases we have to take players word because there's no way to verify the stats loss.

since the shard is pre-aos i dont believe they had stat/skill locks then so you would probably have to script them which would be a pain=/

now the o nly way is to use -int potions and -dex and -str, which has got a lot of players up in arms over not enough places to get the regs and the quite high prices.

I need about 1 of those -int pots for every 2 hours that I spend hunting...the price of those pots are are skyrocketing, and the regs to make them are becomeing less available and harder to get.....

Something this necessary for character development should not be this hard to get...

Please fix/change this asap.

mk, this is a prblem i noticed and lost -1 of each stat for.

when cursed my int goes low enough, or my dex that i get a gain and then when i get my stats back i see a pretty -1 to everything

Desperate times call for desperate measures.....

I got myself sent to jail...sat there clicking the jail stone for a while selecting "loose-1 from a random stat".

I got my int down by 20 points doing this, so I am at 68 on my Vamp now...I lost a LOT of str and dex, but that?s o.k. My fisherman can replace what I lost, and I already have my dex back up to pre-jail levels. I still have about 10 str to regain. But doing this is cheaper and faster then using the -int pots that no one has.

There has to be a better way........
