Sadly Obsidian uses over 100gigs of bandwidth a month between all its servers to offer this service. While overwhelming and costly to us, players continue to ignore it and take advantage of our free server by attacking a large array of different monsters and animals. While this may be fun and game to you, this is a huge load on the server as it has to keep track of so many different looking creatures!

Because of this and the low percentage of people who have donated, we are now changing Obsidian to be less system intensive for our server. Instead of loading up thousands images of monsters and creatures both costing memory and CPU time we have decided to simplify things.

We had a poll awhile back and results showed that the favorite monster of you players in Obsidian are Daemons. The most voted animal was the goat (you sickos). So to continue giving you what you guys want while saving server load and bandwidth we have decided to make a small change benifitting all.

From now on all monsters will look like goats and all undead like daemons. You can tell who they are by their names so it shouldn't make things any more difficult.

Hopefully we'll get more donations to rectify this issue, but in the meantime no complaining telling us that we don't give you what you want. You voted Daemons and goats and by god Obsidian delivered!

Well, not less happy, but it gets boring after ur 10th daemon-looking zombie. Plus the fact that most animals still look normal. Only animals that looked like goat was some monsters on ice isle, the only ones outside cove that looks like goats is, well, goats.

Cool idea none the less.

I am 99% sure this is an april fools joke, because unless broadband runs a custom done engine to host the shard, which he doesn't last i checked, then there is no way the server would have to load graphics, because all it loads are hex numbers, and there is no difference in size or load between 0x0021 and 0x7B3C.
