 Post subject: Mages

There has been alot done on warriors and crafters ( and i am greatful) but I have seen nothing apart from med in war mode been done for mages. Could staff just answer 1 question please, is anything going to happen with mages or are they gonna stay the same as they are?

in t3a poision potts was 100% Fizzel and mages waeren't able to Heal if they are poisioned . in T4a u r able to Heal with poision and posion potts not 100% fizzel like it used to be.

but warriors didnt do 40+ dmg every hit as well.....back then.

and mages are different then before. I want weakest to try to beat a warrior with no pets no bears no fire elementals etc he wont be able to.

Get a warrior to fights a mage with no pots, no armor. He wont be able to.

i cant give any insight on the mages cause i havnt really done any pvp since my return on my warrior or my mage rather.. but beings i come from a pvp background... i can safely say that somehow the system that has been implemented has made obsidian evolve into a pvp system that is fully reliant on bears (or other summons or shinks) and walls..

the best period in pvp that was balanced was the pre deadly poison period... durring this time everything was perfect.. once things started changing.. thats when u seen the population DROP...

there only needs to be one type of poison.. skill should not be required.. (on either end)
and something has to be done about the shrink pot'ed animal spams or summons and walls..
like i have said many times since my return..

u have transformed obsidian into Beastmaster inside of an igloo (or wall.. i say igloo because of the ice elf shit)

the time i am referring to in pvp.. at its most balanced stage.. was when u rarely seen walls being used... not that they were not used.. but most pvp encounters where both parties were willing to fight to the death... a wall was not required... the mages would move from long range to short range.. causing the warrior to switch from mele to bow.. bow was fuked by reactive.. so this caused the mage to come back close.. and in this range spells were fizzelable... but only poison was lesser.. only one type of pot..

the implementation of the varying types of poison and an additional skill being required has since this time destroyed the fabric that held balance in pvp..

i dunno all i can say is i really do not see any enjoyment in the new system.. instead of going back to the simple to make things even.. more things have been implemented.. makeing it that much harder to create blance..

unless alot of the things are removed.. i see no balance in sight... i plan to take no part in pvp unless a system like i described.. (pre-deadly poison era) is again re-implemented.. that system was perfect nearly.. and only need a tad bit of tweaking..

um thats how mages fight now...not before...if they dont cast a bear and have one constantly hitting a good warrior they will die when before mages could finish off warriors using their own spells like mages are meant to do...you know use their spells to kill their enemies not become beastmaster.

well adam is right in a way thing have went from simple to hard and some part of the game arent fun anymore i think the higher power that be have put to many irons in the fire at once not just with pvping with eveything but when you read about pvp 95% of the bitching is the older player who dont want to try it out and who dont try and figure it out it is like oh im not pvping tell things are as they were so for those who dont at least try it out they have no room to bitch change is a parof everything games and real life so when something changes in rl that you havent planed or changed in a way you have no control over do you just give up no you adjust to the change and go on so at least give things a try then you can bitch a little but bitching really dos no good any way

but I do agree on the part that mages shouldnt HAVE to summon a bear, as they do now....
mages should be mages not beast masters, as J said

i dont have to look at the sky to tell that its blue...
i adapted threw every phase of pvp on this shard.. in the years that i played... all the way from when u healed it made u drop your wepons... to the over powered deadly poison days.

I dont know about simple with no depth.. to me i thought there was plenty of depth...
but where that depth went off into the deep end was when deadly poison popped up.. and the Dex system with healing was implemented..

in all honesty.. I liked the system where mages and warriros had the same heal delay and there was no deadly poison... even with this system.. a mage being able to heal like me... and cast spells.. i could still kill.. if u were good enough.. I do think magery should increase your delay on healing... but i do not think dex should effect your speed of healing..

it causes problems all across the board..

Once again you have no clue what you are talking about. A mage should not have to use any summons to beat a warrior. If summons are needed then pvp is not balanced whatsoever. At the closest it has ever been someone like ashes or bm could stand toe to toe with good warriors and the outome was a mystery. Now unless a mage has a a chance to summon a bunch of crap the outcome is obvious but yet some people say that pvp is balanced. :roll:

im not really sure what the answer here is..
i can just tell by the looks of it that id rather come back and craft than pvp... lol...
and that says a lot coming from me..

and it could be just because I am stuck with the old ways and am stuborn but so be it..

my main pvp char Count is going to permanently be a vampire so pvp for a warrior for me is out of the question at the current.. he started out that way.. and i refuse to change it because the system has yet again changed.. and if that hurts me.. so be it

i look at the current pvp andi just dont see any fun in it..
animals and walls is what it seems to boil down to..
that in combination with (from what i hear) overpowered thigns like pitch forks and big spears..

i get so sick of seeing walls...
atleast they do have timers i suppose.....
