I think that wood elves tree binding shouldn't be effected by people cutting at the trees, you wait 1 day after you bind a path, just to have someone cut at the tree and ruin the binding. finding a tree you remember that no one will cut then using it doesn't seem useful. It would just be easier to get 30 magery and use recall? so..the race skill is essentially useless?

not useless at all.
The ice elves have to go to ice isle, they cant choose where to go, and if a mage where to get a rune to there, and recalled when they noticed some one summoning it, theyd be messed up.

Your advantage is that you choose where you want to go. And no one will know. If someone chops down the tree of course it should ruin your binding, your a wood elf and have a connection to the forst. Just choose somewhere isolated. and you should be good.

it gives pks a chance to manage your escape routes plus i believe that you can use other wood elves trees as well as your own. or maybe its just an account level thing.

either that, or only allow the tree binding to be used a set number of times. That way you could make it so it doesn't matter if they cut your tree. Maybe also to balance the fact that you could still warp after they are cut is that you could only bind a way if the tree hasn't been cut first?

Yeah no kidding . They would be so unkillable if they happened to be attacked in that area where they binded a tree a full day ago. Compared to ice elves who can just poof to ice elves wheever they want.
