Once i asked my friend Esam (he was playing obsi) why u left obsi ? he said it had alot of bugs and its not better at any shard, cuz he played alot of nother shard , and he said the reason that obsidian shard not directed by Company or by People that paid for ther Effort Like broadband that he never enter and see what happening or the old GMs they dont care alot of the game , only BOB work in this shard so dont expect that obsi will be like the other shard that have more than 1000 people, i dont no the way 2 make 1000 people join a game, i joined a nother shard and i found it 100% same like obsi at every thing unless no bugs alot of new stuff that i didnt found in obsi and it go great, what is the diff between obsi and the nother shard

It's all in what you know and like, but the only shards I have heard of with 1000 people online are the official pay shards. If an emulated shard charged people to play, EA lawyers would be all over them. Most (if not all) free shards work the same as Obsidian...free to play and supported and maintained by volunteers.
What makes one shard different from another depends on what the volunteers who created the shard have in mind. The flexibility of various emulation software along with over a decade of open source tools gives shard owners the ability to do almost anything they want.
You can customize landmasses and remove all the water...the entire game world can be one large swamp. I once made a shard where the only land was a strip of green grass from the top of the game world to the bottom, and along side of the strip I made 12x12 boxes of all the different types of land masses the game has. I did this just so I could walk the strip and see what kinds of lands are available in the game....I was bored and messing around really (at the time I was going to make a shard biased on Plato's account of Atlantis, complete with the Straights of Gibraltar and rings of the islands), but it's a good way to demonstrate the power available to shard owners.
Ultimately, the gameplay that free shards can offer does not matter, because those things can change at a moments notice depending on the how the folks in charge feel at that time. What makes a shard truly different is not what it can do, but the driving force behind it.......the dedication of the shard owner, the competence of the programmers, and the loyalty of the players. Obsidian has those things at levels that I have never seen on other shards.

For one person to be doing all this I say its an accomplishment. 100 people may be working on other shards,
but those shards can experience the same problems.
Might be slower, but at least we have someone working 100% or harder to make this shard run.

when all of those bugs are fixed and account creation is enabled, i think that this game will be nice.
anyways i don't like the crowded shards, i like people around 25-50 at every time.
