static objects don't show up on ctrl+shift

Yeah but you still dont see these mushrooms on ctrl shift until you uncover them so if u dont know how to uncover them your still f*****

Truffles grow underground, and need something capable of sniffing them out to find where the're at. I know in real life dogs have been used and pigs like to eat them, so those 2 might work with obsidian.

It's more likely that it will be a trial and error thing in swamps and dungeons using a shovel or pickax. It might also be something added to mining or lumber jacking.

I figured it out... a bit tricky but use your brain and you'll figure it out.
