went hunting earlier and everytime there was a bag drop there was not a magic weapon and i fought 2 shadows where i expected atleast a ruin weap since i got them yesterday from those shadows........

I think the loot tables are still a little screwed up. For example sometimes you get no gold from NPC's and sometimes you get amounts that seem a little too high for them. Also trolls and ettins no longer give ex caps and smaller deamons such as gargoyles etc. no longer give you d bones. I have also gotten a few empty bags and every weapon i did get no matter what type of monster was ruin.

well youd think from shadow monsters youd atleast get a ruin drop but i dont know... but i have noticed that the gold sometimes gets a little screwy...

You should never get an empty bag, if you do report the monster. I think there is one item template that is dropping empty bags that used to be medium crappy loot bags. (foods/weapons/gems/etc)

On that note, as said earlier, there are no guaranteed drops. When you hear the drop noise (sounds like a horn, you'll hear it if ya hunt) that means there has been a rare drop on the monster. The more powerful the monster, the more likely the drop, but none are guaranteed.

As for gold, the formula is still getting tweaked. Right now it has a lot of variation still while we test what works best, which isn't easy. Especially given that monsters can have a variance of up to 300-400 total stat points on different instances of the same monsters.

Meaning you might fight one lizard with 280 total stats and the next one will have 400 and the next have only 220. (example, not real lizard numbers).

So the gold is adjusted accordingly, since hte stronger monsters will be harder to kill. When you're an old player, you might not notice the difference that much, but a newer player would notice a strong lizard vs a weak lizard.

That being said yeah, once i get the patching systems working, the gold system will continue to get tweaks until it's happy. SO far it's been working decent, but not perfect.

And yes, some monsters will NOT drop gold, due to having more items than they're worth. (example being really easy humans in full platemail. The platemail can sell for up to 800-1000 gold). We work on those as we see them, adjusting as neccessary. Dark elves are an example that i know of off the top of my head. However most monsters will end up with approximately the same total usable value in items + gold, which is the point of hte system.

Ok and what about ex caps, and d bones? Will it stay the same that lesser deamons such as gargoyles no longer give d bones, and trolls and ettins can no longer be cut for ex caps? I don't really want to have to go hunt cove level 3 every time i need a -dex pot.

Gold Drakes are an example of monsters that currently drop bags that are empty and have NOTHIGN To do with magic drops.
If ya don't hear the ding, then it's not a magic drop. :)

If any other monsters are found that drop empty bags, report em. This may be the only template that is fubar'd.

The only other I can think of, off the top of my head again is another drake type. I chopped down a few black coloured gemma's which drop bags. Not a faulty magic drop, just empty bags.

thats not what im saying though ive heard the bell thinger and there is multiple bag but nothing is in any bag... other times i havent heard the bell and there is a drop...

Crates and chests at places such as Brigands Camp and Yew Orc Fort and the mages in Cove Territory are missing or empty.
