Im sure this has already been discussed but i cant find it...anyways im wondering why do poison pots get thrown under me instead of at em. There so easy to dodge it gets gay...

Thats one thing I really hate about poison pots....you can dodge them easy as hell. You can't dodge the spell that easy, why can you dodge a pot? I can understand if the ability to dodge was biased on dex ot some skill, but any newbie who knows how to move one tile to the right can dodge a pot. It's just not right.

Artifact left over from the old system that i left in. I try not to change systems if i don't have a specific balance reason to adjust it when i upgrade a system.

Are we wanting to remove it and update pots to work more like the spells(non dodgeable?).
Or do we want to make high dex chars to have an evade % on them?

Lets hear your thoughts.

If they are to be dodgeable, I think it should be related to a skill. Tactics maybe. A decent Tactician would know to get the hell outta the way :)

It would then also be something that is trained & not bought...

ya, it would add a little dept to tactics lmao,,,, if thats possible,,, um

but i dont get it, how are p pots dodgable? you cant dodge them because they instantly hit..?
u mean move and make the person clicking miss?
ummm,,, wtf? if u cant hit someone while moving dont PvP, or hop on a FPS and get some skills
its a game ffs?

From the time a person clicks on their target to the time a P pot hits the square a person was standing on takes about 1 or 2 seconds. P pots don't seam to target a person, they appear to target a square, so if the person is not standing on that square after the delay they don't get hit.

I like the idea of dodging a pot without the dodge relating to a skill or stat...it adds a bit of personal expertise to PvP...but I'd like to make the area necessary to evade a pot a little larger then one square. 3 would work well, and it would help prevent low level monsters from dodging pots.

so 1 pot can poison 3 people? and that would have to be a 3x3 square it would hit,,
so ya that sucks

Ya i dont think they should be dodgeable. Id like em to be made into like the spell where it hits em not the tile.
My reason behind my choice is that it specialy sucks when your gm poisoning the other guy doesnt even have poison and you poison a square and run onto it cause the mage is running around and you poison yourself with deadly poison while the mage just keeps killing ya.

no, not hit a 3x3 area, but target the player rather then a square...the player can evade if he moves more then 3 tiles away.

And ya, it REALLY sucks when you poison yourself.

Poison pots needs to target the player, not the square.

well i like the fact that it has tactics now to it,
can it be kept that if you poison someone while on top of you they get poisoned also,

I wasn't aware you can dodge them tho :)

but ya, come to think of it that way falin,
realistically you should get poisoned yet,,,, unless you know any fast acting liquid poisons that work on skin contact... and can get around armor....

and if its thrown in the eyes i would worry about the glass from the bottle more then the poison....
but ya,, i always kinda thought of the poison bottle being air tight, and it reacts with the air/ pressure release from the glass breaking allows the liquid to change forms into gas (explaining the big green poof) and all the people over it inhale the gas poisoning them (explaining the who evers on that tile gets poisoned thing)
and would explain the dodging also,,
