 Post subject: str gains....

I just made a mage started him out at 30 str and 40 int. during training wres in the last two days my int is 77 and my str is still 30. How can i gain str?

I agree with this....i spent quit a bit of time wrestling with him, and in the time
i wrestled in the old system at least 2 gains would have been achieved.

Yet, i saw neither gain from my part, nor any gain from him. I is possible to tweak
gains slightly to be a little easier and not so difficult?

speaking of your strength gain issues.....while im training fencing i got gains in str....instead of dex like i used to before i stopped playing. however my str gains stopped at 75....so i no longer get anything at all from *trying* to GM fencing (i swear ive killed hundreds of mobs to get from 71.2-72.2 [est.] with 95 dex....so it should be going a lot faster gains....at least logically.....and more dex).

It is possible and quiet simple to change the gain rate, but he's probably to busy.

Well hopefully he changes them soon, cuz unless he doesnt its useless for anyone
to try and train a warrior or mage.....just my opinion

I used mace on a dummy and got up from 0 to 30 and i got 2 gains during the two hours macroing.

lol hopefully thats sarcasm chips. 0 to 30 would have at least given
hime 8 or more gains....if not a full 10. I should know, I usually always
did mace on dummies and the gains would always reach in the 10s

So 2 gains in 2 hours is pretty messed up and needs fixing quit soon =[

Honestly most of the reason he's where he is is becuase you used low gain skills.

Each skill has 2 properties
How fast it gains a given stat, and how high it can gain a given stat.
Very few skills can gain you to 100 in a given stat.
However a lot of skills can gain you to 40 or 50 in a stat, but it'll be very slow if you use the wrong one.

That being said stat gains have been adjusted slightly, mostly to reduce int in some skills that obsidian uses a littel differently.
Aroudn 30% of the skills got an adjustment one way or another.

You shouldn't gain int for anything except things that require int in my opinion. Spells etc. sure but for hitting a training dummy with a sword, no.

well even tho realisticly ur not going to get to smart swinging a sword at a dummy, besides learning it swings when hit! UG!
but i understand why we do get the gains, because of balance! without that warriors wouldnt be very dependent on any other character :( unlike all other classes

IF you want to put it in perspective. 50-70 in a stat is an average person. I'm talking average average.
So the 10 int warriors running around it's kinda a miracle they aren't cutting themselves with their swords.
And yes, when you're that stupid, even swinging a sword makes you smarter about thigns in the world. Even if it's "swords are sharp and hurt, so don't let them touch you" type of intelligence.
