The 200-190 - 186 - 180 statcap per individual stats (changed over time) was put in place long ago due to certain restrictions/bugs in the system.
We now have the option of removing this and letting people make skills as rediculously high as they want.
Discuss.

i dont mind if somebody want to have a 280-5-5 minner or something..
i dont know how useful it can be to be over 200 in a single stat but it would be funny to fight a warior with 250 dex^^
let it as is ?
set it to 200?
make it unlimited?
doesn't really matter to me

I think keeping the 180 stat cap for the moment is a good idea. Later on we might want to play around with it but it may require some pvp tweaking. It would be pretty nifty to see but i'd rather see less things changed now

Yeah I agree with Echo on this. My current main character sort of spreads all of his stats out across the 3, with the exception of DEX being kept right around 70. Without a higher total skill cap, I'm not sure where I'd go with my already-not-so-great stat ratio.

I think it should be as high as anyone can afford. I dont see any problem with it unless there is a bug. I do know if you have 230 dex you instant heal on every shard ive played so that might be a problem but besides that i like it.

high as people can afford? lol well eventually everyone would have those stats,
but think of balancing pvp/pvm with that range of stat,
some people gonna not be able to hunt at all
and or others will poon the socks off everything with ease

I'm with Echo on this one. Might be nice to play with, but there are too many irons in the fire right now. At least for the short term I say we leave it alone.

To be honest i dont see the point in having more than 180 in any one stat. No matter what your build there is going to be serious drawbacks to taking all of 1 and none of the other. For example having say 200 str, you are going to have what? 89 dex and 1 int? I cant se that being very good for pvp or pvm. That is the main drawback right now for pvm mages and you can atleast get them over 100 dex.

if i remember right before when you were able to have 200 in a stat the total cap was 300 and only 1 person had 200 str... but he was a push over and really made it look bad having that high of str... other wise it would be fine if you raised the cap...

Races were supposed to be done by now...instead we are still on the crafting patch from what???6 months ago?
I say we get the time line back on track and we work on the newer new stuff after previously promised new stuff is working well.

Genuinely I’m happy the way it is, my suggestion would be…let’s leave this stuff alone until we look at stat & skill caps in general after we have more important things up and running. But if your are looking for an opinion then yeah, an increase in an individual cap is good - as long as the overall cap is still the same. It is the none increase in overall cap I have a problem with. Especially since our skill cap increases with ages (or at least account age - as it is atm)…
If you cannot tell - I am looking for a bonus for a more aged char than the account in general. I’m sure there is one but atm I cannot figure out what exactly it is or even could be…

I would like to remind everyone here that the reason most people are still around and love obsidian is because of the set up it has vs other servers. Including the stats> skills> Items> PVP and PVM Functions. Lets do ourselves the favor of concentrating on getting the tweaks in to modify Obsidian to how it use to be at 100 percent instead of adding as you did say before iron to the fire. Change is good yet sometimes change can be bad. The change we should concentrate is to better what we have and make it 100 percent. But to change the whole system of stats... would just be a mistake and make us more like them other shards that no one loves like this one.
Keep that in mind guys

actually when we had a individual cap of 200 we had more people here... just an observation... i also find it funny that when it dropped from 180 to 176 a lot of the warriors who had 180 seemed to think it was going to make mages super ubber and unstoppable... like 4 str really mattered that much... but nnyeh...

Dex is just as important on a warrior as str really anyway especially now with the longer heal time. I could care either way anyway really because unless the overall stat cap is raised raising caps on individual skills is pointless.
