UPDATE: So i lied and the meeting went on an extra 2 hours past the original post while we tried everything we could think of to do something about the lag. Hopefully we've made some progress, if not then i'm pretty sure i know what the problem is and it won't be pretty. So starting in 12 hours, keep a watch on it and tell us if it made the lag better.
Alright, we're just now wrapping up the meeting, (yes it's been going on this long).
Here's what you all can look forward to. Keep in mind these are things that were approved, so won't be active until you see them in the changelog as an implemented patch:
Motions that were approved:
- Veteran rewards based on account age, not character age. This means you can create new characters and try new things without worrying about losing all your time
- All race design documents (except vampires). Vampires has tenative approval pending final skill designs. This means work on races can begin and will finish before too long
- Racial history supplementary documents. Includes racial governmental systems.
- Smelting - All ores will now be smeltable at the same skill level (low), and as such high level miners will no longer fail from them. This means that you also will not gain skill from smelting, but that we can also increase the mining gain rate to compensate.
- Final design documents on crafting patch - 80% of the patch is already done, with these approvals the final bit will be finished. The patch is still on schedule and will be released before febuary.
- New Staff - Broadband has allowed to the selection of a few more low-level in-game staff to start, given how far along other patches have been. Expect a period of staff-only patches for a while (after the current patches are done), while we prepare the shard for new staff members.
- Taming Mass Control changes If you aren't a GM tamer, you probably won't be able to control 20 bears.
- Overworld Spawn Control changes - no more killing 50 million rabbits to make other things spawn.
- NPC foul language filters expansion, in addition approved to include YELLING
- Boss Modifications/Expansion - expect a few more in the future, along with the existing ones getting upgrades back to where they used to be
- Holiday Content clarified. Timeline set for disabling/enabling new content (hint: get your winter stuff before spring)
- Runestone chamber upgrades and new code list
There you have it, that's a brief outline of most of the stuff we've went over. There's a few things that i can't say yet(or belong to other staff to speak about), and i do refuse to elaborate any more than the hints given here, so you'll just have to wait to see as the patches come out.
As always, I do apologize for how long some of this takes, but yes broadband does have to approve almost everything that is a major change. On that plus side, most everything gets approved a month+ in advance so we never have to stop working.

as i said in the post, the new codes aren't in yet. Nothing on this list is, until you see it in the changelog as a patch.

Who knows.....being able to find the codes to places was always the most exciting part of playing OBS. The exitement of being the first, and only one, to have a code to a dungeon or a awesome location for a house.....
Cant wait

was wondering if those of us who changed our chars to human class will have a chance to change to a race if we decide to now that they are coming back.
everything looks really cool looking forward to all of it and thanks.
