We've been aware the server is fubar.
As of right now i've been unable to get ahold of broadband, he's probably asleep.

But everything's offline, so it's not just a obsidian shard only issue.

Will post more when i find out from him.

its all good i think everyone is used to the server being down by now and if they arnt they should get used to it.

That's a load of crap.

Obsidian actully has a history of pretty decent uptime. We're still well above 95% for the lifetime of the shard. And as i said earlier, nothing on that server is responding, meaning it's either a network/connection issue, or the hardware itself had a problem.

Here lately, the shard seems to go down more than Shadow for cigarette money. Can't really complain though, all servers have issues from time to time. I just hope it all gets taken care of soon - not being able to play obs (especially on Christmas Eve) means I actually have to do something productive, like talk to my wife lol. Thanks for the updates on what's goin on Bob!

It's basic human psychology that we remember negative eperiences and are more vocal about them than we are about positive experiences.

So essentially, just because you remember the shard going down, doesnt mean that it is necessarily a regular occurence compared to the uptime.

As Bob said, we are currently at 95% uptime and work as fast as we can to fix any issues.

Apologies for the downtime, and hopefully it won't be a long problem.

It does suck to not be able to play due to the server being down here and there, but at least we have a shard to come to when the server is up and running. I'd rather sit around waiting for the server and dealing with the minor annoyance of boredom than to have to settle for paying to play WoW or something of the like. I just really hope the server comes back online soon, 'cause I have two days coming with nothing to do and I'd really like to see my time spent playing obs than watching crappy christmas movies on tv.

Remember - It's not like broadband is obligated to keep the server running. He's not getting paid to let us all play, so we should just take it with a grain of salt when minor inconveniences such as server downtime come along and rejoice when we can log on again. Much respect to bb and the staff for all they do for us Merry Christmas guys!

Good spirit there mate. I was just posting in another thread and said "server's up..." and saw this and said "uh-oh" But yeah generally speaking the shard is more online than offline.

That being said, sucks the server looks like it'll be offline for christmas.

That does not mean santa isn't comming.
The annual christmas gift giving sponsored by the Ark Angels will still happen. I'll be damned if i ever miss a year, we've had a good track record so far.

So if it's up christmas day, we'll do it then. If not i'll post and we'll set a definite date for santa to come late.

This actually works out better for people with families of their own i miss it every year.

I really hope I'm on Santa's 'Good' list. I been trying real hard to be good cause I want Santa to bring me gifts...he passed me by last year
