I can't say for certain until i finish the upgrades to the crafting skills, which while it's getting higher on the list, isn't quite at the point where i can start working on it yet.

But as it stands right now, and given the methods most people used to craft, i'm pretty sure you'll be spending around the same(approximately) time, or less if naything, gathering resources. For example, blacksmithing if all you did was make daggers for a very low chance of skillgain, and you used up a lot of iron.
Now not only can you use up the iron, but the rusty/bronze/etc for skillgain, and have a higher % chance in most cases.
Also you'd produce more products you can use or sell, rather than the smelt/resmelt method of old.

Again, that's just my preliminary observations, I would be more than welcome to spend some time once it's all the craftings are fixed to give some more detailed information once we know how it'll end up.

What about swordmanship? I dont gain that all any more.

What about cooking? Im at 59.2 and it says fish steaks are too easy to gain...it would take 2 years to get enough gains off small fish and fffs and stat fish, and there is no way im training with stat fish!!! everyone in the past could train to 100 with fish steaks. i hope this can be fixed or the only gm ppl will be the old ones!

I can't cook anyway because you can no longer use static fire and i can't cut kindling anymore so wtf am i supposed to cook on? What do you need lumberjacking now just to make a fire? GAY!!!!!!!

yeah two others that might be too hard now are magery and mining.

belg i went and bought lumberjacking and finally i get kindling now.

I think something is up with carpentry. I burned through about 150 logs at 19 skill and got 0 gains. It might just be really slow, and thats fine, but I made 150 boards and I got 0 gains. Skilltest didn't say it was too easy (most of my boards were of shoddy quality), and after I made the boards into boxes and stools I still got no gains. Thats over 170 attempts at 19 skill with nothing to show for it. Far too slow for such a low skill level.

ok. if you make an item, and it says this is shoddy, shouldn't there be room for improvement??????????????? and if there is room for improvement, shouldn't you be able to get better?????????????? and if you get better, doesn't that mean your skill should go up?????????????? oh yeah, i forgot. even if you suck at making something, and you can get better at it. STOP, cuz you arent getting any gains. TINKERING FAILED. i understand that if you are the bees knees at making something you sometimes screw up. but most of the time it should be above avg or excellent. IF IT ISNT YOU SHOULD BE GETTING GAINS FROM MAKING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

u need to make the gain system like was before ....... gains base on repeat not in base to hard stuff... OLD systemw as fine dunno wtf they change it
