Houses on the new system only take 30 days to decay. Most people are changing their houses over from the old system and simply not logging on to refresh their new house anymore. IT WILL STILL DECAY IF YOU DON'T VISIT IT.

Probably 4 or 5 players have already lost their houses and another 10 or so are going to lose their houses tomorrow or in about 10 hours time.

ouch!! Not everyone can read the forum every day! We have lost all our houses! Scott refreshed one of the village houses and thet decayed too! So joined houses must be buggy.

This could be the end for alot now.

Would it be possible to turn off decay on new houses until things get back to 100%?

what doesent kills ya... I seems to lost everything i had in all my secure chests! You dont see me whining cos of that (even if it would be nice to get rare + regs back)

Funny thing is i havent logged on since i replaced my houses and when i logged on today it still said 29 days and w/e hours. I think i replaced my houses atleast 3-4 weeks ago.

So with the new house system everything just completely disappears after 30 days? Not sure i follow this. But i think 30 days is a bit stupid anyway. For those of us who have jobs and families we don't always get to log on for months at a time. Atleast 60 days was somewhat managable.

Yeah i think it should be a little long or maybe add on option to auto refresh if you have the gold in your bank or in your house or something but that maybe tons of work for staff just a thought

Yeah, this is kinda outta nowhere. When the house decay was set to 30 days, perhaps an email should have been sent to ALL forum accounts.

Seeing as how the shard has been in major flux for some time, alot of players have been quite absent. On top of that, many had placed and REPLACED houses repeatedly as bugs and such were worked out and I am sure thought it was ok to let the big boys get back to work fixing the major things that were keeping the playerbase away.
It s kinda funny how some major things are only found out when someone's account gets screwed. Perhaps better communcation would be well...better.
Anyway, glad to see some combat issues were fixed. For people who lost houses, I may have some deeds that could be sold a bit cheaper than the shoppes sell them for. Just PM me.

It's hardly out of no-where. When people placed their houses they saw they had 30 days left. Frankly everyone who had their house decay is just plain disinterested, and thus lost their house because of their lack of attention. It's not staff's fault.

However I am hoping that we do a bit of a rollback and change this around since there appear to be so many people doing it. But yet again I'm astounded by the number of stupid things people do.

actually, i was put under the impression that the house decays were held off while they work on the system.and i didnt know till like 2 days b4 this post

I guess that was just for older houses, thankfully i visit my house often

Does the house completely disappear after 30 days? I am just having trouble understanding how you lose everything if your house decays because i don't know the differences in the new system.

Ok, whats the big deal? I'm on a crappy satalite connection with a 2.5 second ping time..I can barely log in much less walk...I manage to log in, I get to the bridge in Vesper to go and refresh my house, and the bridge is blocked with barrels that I can't move. I don't have any regs (or money to buy them, and I can't hunt), it would take me literally 2 hours to walk around the other bridge, and my sanctuary ability is on hold. The closest place the RC would let me out is Minoc....I'll try again later tonight...

and you would waist ur 2 hours because the bridge on the other side is blocked in also LOL! just a early warning

If I had not checked in once in a while to see if the monster fighting capabilities had been adjusted, and to see if the world was approaching Utopian levels my houses would have decayed as well. During the extended period of fixes (not anyone's fault, it is a big job) many players did not check in as often, (being the patient souls that they are). Your idea of a little rollback would seem to be best for all concerned Echo. I am sure that all staff can agree on this small gesture.
