Chips i have always like you in game and all. So i really wont post to much because im not turing this in to a flame. But if i or anyone else wanted our own shard we would have made it. But we enjoy the game and the people in it. Thats why we play not because we have to or need to because we want to. Thats why we or least i post wtf is going on posts not to to down bb or any other staff. I mean wouldnt you like to know whats going on.

Ok we upgraded the server. Now if we had simply upgraded the server from old version to new version on a clean slate things would have been MUCH simpler. As is we're trying to basically rebuild an entire shard to the way it was before WITH all the existing items (which is a shit ton harder). This means rescripting just about every single part of the game. This is also a busy time of year for staff with school/work, so we don't get TONS of time to sort it all out. What else is there to know? We have our own lives, we run this shard when we get time. Beyond that curiosity is just being plain nosey.

Well i wasnt being nosey. I could give a shit less what you guys do. My point was and if it hurts im sorry when we were told things were going to be fixed the to hear oh yeah the day it was going to be done the one who was to to do it was playing xbox the whole day. Im not saying the this shard come first or spend ever bit of your spare time on it. Just saying if you say your going to do it do it. So im not going to post anymore on this everyone knows whats going gl with it all.

it aint easy at all to keep a shard running for any length of time and keep the userbase happy/entertained. one of my best friends tried and we had a ton of pple willing to play just too damn hard to keep interest in sitting down and busting ass to make things work right and come up with shit for the players.

im not saying its real complicated either if you got the skillz but i guarantee that those of you who think you could do it might just find that you would be bored as shit within a few months and either lose interest or have hardware/network probs or get into some shit you cant handle somehow etc.. the shit just isnt easy to maintain for a long stretch.

so imho, to keep a shard running for pretty much 8 solid years without a world wipe takes one bad motherfucker of an admin.

knowing this, i would say that if the current changes were indeed easy to make, it'd already be done, since it obviously isn't, then all i can say is thank god we have a great staff and that bad motherfucker of an admin to take on such a shit ton of work just so we can have fun for free.

I'm the ultimate staff slacker; to be fair until the last patch wouldnt update for me so I couldnt log in. Hopefully the new client will work.

If you want to moan at someone, moan at me. Send me a PM telling me how gay I am for not logging in. Start a petition. Whatever.

I work all the hours I can, I work evenings off, I work weekends, I go out and get drunk too often, I go to parties, I play guitar live, I play guitar at home, I play computer games, I get with women I shouldn't, and when I'm not doing all those things (which is a rare moment of solace) I actually tidy my house. But not often. And I even discovered a new alien computer games console which in a strange foreign tongue is known only as "W'ee".
And because of all this I've neglected Obsidian for too long.

So, if you want me back then feel free to moan at me and it might happen. I love events, and talking to players, and generally making a nuisance of myself.

BUT

What ever you do, do NOT moan at all the lovely hardworking people like BB, Bob, and Echo, who continue to devote significant portions of their free time in creating an enjoyable FREE gaming experience for you all.
