Is this time the end of Obs, I know there have been rough patches but the inactivity of everyone (players, GM's, admin) has me a little worried.

I at the moment have no point in loggin on due to the house issues and stats falling constantly.

Im not doomsaying, just this time it really seems a bit bleak

Well i have been woundering the same thing for a while now. As im sure alote of others have just dont want to say anything or maybe they want to kiss butt idk. The shard has been going down hill for a while now imo. I mean come on when was the last time anyone seen 20 people on? And then when you do have an issue you page and wait for 3-7 days. Only to get told so and so will have to do it when they can get to it. And this is why alote of the players have moved on. Because they are tired of the bs and geting told things that never come to pass. I remember bb him self saying in a post. Everything has a life span or something along that line. Maybe obsi has had its run. So in close all i can say is shit or get off the pot.

hate to say it but yall are right but who knows soon as accoutn creation and housing is fixed maybe we can get things moving again, i think the housing issue jus pushed everyone over the edge specially when the stat situation is like it is and hunting is like it is but hey maybe we should just go bak to the old housing system until bb gets it sorted out he left it kinda in a broken state

i think they kinda over did it with the upgrades where they coldn't keep up and now everyones paying for it

The shard has been going down for serveral reasons cause of the beta,accountcreation,housing and a couple more. But i think the main reason why is cause no one is advertising Obs no more. Last person i can remeber advertising obs was ashes he went to top 100 shards and got obs to be #2 After account creation is fixed im pretty sure if we advertise a bit we can get more new players to join and then some older ones will start coming back.

It's not near the end... Only reason i can confidently say that is we've had less people than this. There are still 6+ people who log on daily and play more than an hour, with around 10-12 people each day. Worst obsidian was ever at was 3 people logging in over the course of one month. The same 3 people. And that was without an active admin.

I'm still active, so is echo. Broadband's getting completely screwed over by work, and because of that i've not even been able to get time with him to set out plans for the next month, let alone find out the state of housing, since the day he was available to work last week was my day off.

So yeah, we're not dead. Account creation is down mostly because it's broken and we have no want to fix it yet (it's near the end of the list of things to get done) because we don't want to recruit new people right now, because we only get one shot to show them a game they want to play, and right now it's not obsidian. Players are bitching constantly, and the game isn't quite to the level that i'd like it in terms of finished balance.

Hopefully i'll get word back from broadband today on why housing isn't done and maybe he'll let me finish it up if he can't. If not, and it looks like it'll be any decent amount of time till it's done, i will re-enable the old housing system.

Well got ahold of broadband, and it was a little aggrivating.

Account creation wasn't broken, broadband fixed it, he just forgot to enable the stupid thing once beta month ended. So that should get enabled this evening. I still wish that all players do NOT recruit people yet, as the shard still has quite a bit that needs fixing, so if you're bringing in new people, bring them in and work with them and let them understand it's going to get balanced out, just some rough spots.

Housing was apparently fixed last sunday, we just had a communication failure and he thought the pack bug was affected to housing as well, so he didn't enable it. It is now enabled, and i'm putting up the news post right now.

So yeah... even your admins sometimes don't quiet communicate correctly. Sorry for the mixups.

i have been since feb of 2004 and yeah i stop playing for a few months just because i start playing other games and have alot of work new house wife etc.. but now im trying to come back and as always as the shard is online im gonna be here

Obsidian (or UO in general) is not a game people play as a fad. It's like crack. Once you have some, your hooked. More people will come back for their fix, and new addicts will migrate to Obs, but not until shit is working right. Not many people will waste their time the way Obsidian currently is, and the longer things stay this way the less people will remember the shard is here. I don't think this is the end of Obsidian, but I don't think the shard will ever see 100 players online at one time again.....
