I was just searching through all the old dos games I have backed up on floppy disks and found a few old favourites.

Anyone ever play any of these?

Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
EcoQuest 1: The Search for Cetus
EcoQuest 2: Lost Secret of the Rainforest
Monkey Island 1
Monkey Island 2
Major Stryker

Anyone have any other favourites that they used to play/still play?

Yeah both the maniac mansion games and both Monkey Island games. You know you can perfectly re-live the Lucasfilm experience with the SCUMMvm? It works well. I use it and DOSbox emulator to play a lot of old DOS games.

Some Monkey Island quotes I remember fondly:

"You fight like a dairy farmer!"
"How appropriate, you fight like a cow."

"I meanz to kills you all!"

"Drinking and darts don't mix."

great stuff indeed. those old lucasarts games are sweet. one that was really good that hasnt been mentioned is grim fandago.

the genre went almost dead for a while but it made a bit of a comeback not long ago. there are still some newer adventure games being made you guys, try beyond good and evil (and its sequel when it comes out). very kickass imo.

also penny arcade adventures ftw :P

p.s. i have one that was supposed to be good called the longest journey but i never got around to playing it yet.

Hell yeah, Dos games, old school Nintendo and Atari 2600 RULED my childhood.

I remember being 5 years old and getting so pumped up when my Mom would tell me that we were going to go to my Aunts house... because I knew that once I got there my cousin would fire up "Stuntz" for Dos on his computer. The graphics for that blew me away at the time. I think thats the biggest reason why I loved Dos, the games and graphics made pretty much everything else look like child's play.

I remember being completely obsessed with "Ultima 7: The Black Gate" and "Ultima 7 Part 2: Serpent Isle." Those two games right there are the sole reason I ended up playing Obsidian. Without them, I wouldn't have met some of the coolest people on Earth and helped me get through a really rough time in my life. I really hold the shard close to my heart because of that and I'll stick around until its taken down, hopefully that won't be anytime soon!

Some other games I remember enjoying:

Another World
Flashback
Alone In The Dark
Estatica 1 and 2
Hexen
DOOM 1 and 2
Pirates! Gold
Duke Nukem
and loads of old RPG titles which names escape me.
