Alright, fishers i want your opinion.

Forgetful fish are a pain in the ass, storing them, sorting them, etc.

How about a new system for them, I've been given 2 suggestions.

1st is to make forgetful fish bring up a menu where you select the skill you want to lose.

2nd is to make forgetful fish raw materials for cooking dishes, and have cooks be able to prepare different forgetful fish dishes, each one dropping a different skill.

In both cases, the amount of skill the FFF will reduce will be decreased, to keep the market for them "fresh".

I love the idea of having a menu to choose the skill you wish to drop.

i think it would be better if like
there fff are rated on 3 different levels
hard meduim and easy
hard obviously hardest
meduim obviously the meduimest
easy obviously the......slightly less meduimest

ehm anyway ..
the 3 levels should have 3 different menus
hardest dropping down a menu for the hardest skills to drop such as wrestling or all the skills on the menu, AND or dropping the skills down the most
meduim the same but less skills on the menu,or drops the skills a little less maybe by 7 instead of 10 or 5 instead of 10

ya u get the point im to lazy to explain it better so ima make the post really colorfull and call it a day

So in the second one you combine a whole bunch of forgetful fishes to drop a set of skills? I dont understand very well

Either way i think the first one is much simpler and convenient

But keeping it the same seems just as fine

I would vote for the 2nd suggestion

Maybe adding so that cooking skill affects what kind of skill would be "forgotten"?

I still say: Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS).

Part of what makes fff so valuable, besides the current demand, is the randomness involved in catching them. Just like stat fish are in a way. Would you also make it so that you can catch a certain number of generic stat fish and then have to cook them with a certain recipe to make whatever specific stat reducing fish you want? What about colored fish?

In short, I like the system the way it is. As it is, some days you will catch a bunch of what you are looking for and other days you'll catch crap.

I think we would be treading into dangerous waters (heh, fishing joke there) as far as the shard economy is concerned if we start messing with creating your own special fish, no matter what they are, on demand. It looks like you would be openning a big old smelly can of worms by making these changes. (heh. TWO fishing jokes!)

Of course, this is just my two gold pieces worth of input... ;)

FFF could however be made much more rare to battle the inflation problem

and if the old system would be the best choice the FFF could/should maybe be stackable to be easier to organize

Thats a pretty bad idea, because if they were much more rare it would be much more expensive and troublesome to drop those skills and are easy and cheap to find with the current system.
I don't have a fisher but imo not everything needs to change, fishing is fine the way it is.

It would be alot easier to know the exact amount of Gold that should be charged per fish thought, seeming as there would be only one kind of FFF.

And maybe it is too easy to get your skills dropped, more demand on the skill losses and the increased price it gives would make the Fisher a more powerfull class, and more worthwhile to choose.

This is just my general opinion, and I am under no circumstances trying to force people into thinking my ideas as being the best. I am just posting this as an invitation to a public discussion.

if u make FFF any rarer no one will be able to keep up with random skill gains specially now anat raises randomly  i think honestly your not gonna be come a anatomy grand master by swinging wepons at someone, anyway so it really don't help the situation so you should really should have the option not to raise your anat to GM because it will make anat FFF either useless or hard to keep up with due to random gains .when u swing at someone i mean it's pretty simple where to swing a sword
*neck =kill* head = if not dead almost* it don't take much thinking besides tactics so i REALLY don't get the random gains anyway BUT thats off topic

ya vets have a hard time keeping up with the buggy wrestling gains already, I would feel sorry for the noob that is bout to over cap and has to save up to get 1 wrestling FFF when there harder to get then they are already LOL ya and you would have to fish more then u pvp to keep up with ur own gains as a fisher then which i think is gay

and i made that last post all colorful for nothing? f*** YALL :P

This pretty much proves my point. Having fishers put these proposed generic fff on their vendors rather than cook them will throw the already shaky post-patch economy for a loop.

I'm with Venom. Keep fishing the way it is. There are far too many changes going on right now that need to be tweaked. To change yet another thing before much bigger issues have settled down is sheer madness.

Also, BobSteele, I posted an idea for an "Obsidian Industrial Average" in the pre-patch It's time for the "wouldn't that be neat" contest thread. http://www.dxgaming.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=18903 (I'm not sure if that thread was a joke or not, btw. It seems that the higher ups have their hands full enough as it is. I doubt they even have any free time to worry about a little contest with everything going on right now.) The basic idea would be to have a webpage that players could go to that not only displayed the current going rate for certain items but also other relevant data (number of items for sale, high and low values, etc). This information would be based on scripted polling of all player vendors. I'm not a programmer thus I'm not qualified to say if such a feature would even be possible. However, if such a tool could be created, it would be more than invaluable to both new and old players alike. New players would be able to set their prices accordingly rather than arbitrarily setting best guess or even random prices. All players could even try and play the market by "dumping" items for a lower price. Can anyone say "Eco-Wars", boys and girls? The possibilities for fun are endless and it would more than surely help stabilize an already shaky fledgling economy.

In short, I still say don't mess with the fishing. You know, maybe, and I really stress JUST MAYBE, after everything else is tweaked to close to perfection we might play with this idea some more. But right now, I think we should get a rock solid shard going as it currently is. What currently IS is showing much promise. PLEASE, do NOT make any more radical changes until the dust settles. Remember Chaos Theory: if a butterfly flaps its wings in one location a tornado might spawn half way around the world.

(Sorry for the length of this post. However, imho I think I made some good points.) 8)

i like fishing the way it is personally. to solve the storage problem why not make the cooked fff stackable? or chips Idea would work as well as far as i can tell thats how it pretty much is anyway. theres the fff that you find everywhere and then theres the really really hard ones to get...but really making them stackable along with the other small fish would be great!

and chips if you didn't notice swinging a sword also makes you smarter

How do you stack different types of fff, my dear? Or are you saying making the same type of fff stackable? OR are you referring to the proposed "generic" fff that needs a recipe to cook the desired type of fff?

I say stick with your first sentence: “i like fishing the way it is personally.”

Once again, trying to change fundamental things that have stood and worked very well for so long while also trying to debug the new 4th Age is sheer madness.

As my old boss used to say: “Stop it.” ;)
