I have just banned 3 accounts for people trying to exploit situations for gold that they chose not to report for the last month, and 2 more got jailed for lesser offences of the same.

Anyone else wanting to try to break the economy will get a similar insta ban with no possibility of an appeal.


This is an opportunity for the 3 players i have not punished to fix what they've done before they themselves get ban because they thought they were smart enough to hide it from admins. And also to talk to the nearest admin so it gets plugged. We'll find it even if you don't, we'd just rather not ban people because they're stupid and htink they can get away with stuf, and cost us an extra half hour of work finding how they did it.

This is also a warning to anyone who has saved up some bugs or know of imbalances that they purposefully didn't report. Do it now, so we don't have to ban you ltaer when you try to get away with it.

So if your dumb like me when it comes to bugs and you use it do you still get baned. Because i was usring the invis bug and didnt know it. Kinda hard to know if its a bug if no one tells ya

invis bug? basically if things seem WAY too easy when killing a monster just let me know and i can let you know either way.

Well i know i kinda went off about the gold thing. But if you think about it in the long run it will help us all out. I know we have put time in and everything. But i dont think staff just set around talking about how to screw us. Staff here has always been as fair as they posibley can so i dont see that changeing now. Maybe if we just sit back and relax and let theam do their thing it would be better. Anyway my point in posting was at least they are fixing the bug right here right now. And at least the guilty ones are geting what they have comeing to theam. So we dont have to go threw all this again.

Put simply, tisn't me! i wouldnt know where to start in tryin to cheats the system lol. But then ya's probably know that


...Also we've just got things fixed and some of you are tryin to friggin gain an upper hand already?? lame. I think Bob is being kind at the moment, I wouldnt be so lenient.

At least in a stupid kinda "silver cloud lining" kind of way, if these people feel so bold now during all of the confusion to try and exploit certain things then it will only help in the long run. Hey, why not keep the beta open a bit longer to expose these A-Holes? I just can't see how someone could stoop so low as to cheat in a game that, as fun it is, is over a decade old.

Yeah, the in-game economy is screwed...or was screwed. But these people helped expose a bug and then got banned. Hey, those other three players? Yep. That's a banning. Unless you find something odd, report it to staff before buying 5 keeps or something, I think you should be "outta here!"

Exactly. There is a huge difference between finding a bug and reporting it, and finding a bug, exploiting it and hoping you don't get caught.

Honestly if Bob was willing to go so far as this to balance the economy, what makes these players think that they can and should game the system. Better yet how did they think they wouldn't be caught.

Seriously, just report it and take that as a great opportunity to help Obsidian out.

I have a hard enough time dealing with staff members when I call for them (fear, I think), let alone to be visited for abusing the system. Lots of things are screwed up right now, but I find it more fun to play right now than before. And to quote my uncle when dealing with morons abusing bugs, "If you're gonna be stupid, you gotta be tough"
