And there's no point of any action until the big rollback right? or we should act already?

I would wait for the rollback, or you might have to do it again.

So we have to wait for the rollback which is who knows when and then we have another thirty days from then or 30 days from now?

As I understand it, the roll back will accompany the launch of 4.0, which is in 2 days and 1 minute. Form there we will have 30 days.

so i like the idea of buying another house to move all of your stuff into but what if its a limited location like in front of a mine? and you don't really have room to place another small house?

new housing sounds great! after getting over the fear of moving all your stuff in unfriendly territory that is ><

I am curious if it would be possible to maybe set up an appointment with certain GMs to facilitate moving the more permanent items in one's house.

My thinking is that after purchasing and placing said "temporary house" and moving all of one's items to it, albeit temporarily, the reserved GM could then meet up with a player at an appointed time, take inventory of all unmovable items (vendors, guild stones, ATM chests, message boards, etc., etc., etc.), let you demolish/replace your house, and then give you all of the appropriate deeds to replace some certain unmovable items (vendors, forges, archery buttes, etc.) while still actually personally (re)placing ones that there are no deeds for or that new deeds could not replace(ATM chests, looms, existing and established guild stones).

Maybe for those that need help with the initial transfer of general items to the temp house that is in an area highly trafficked by vile characters or if they fear that certain enemies of theirs may anticipate and attempt to intercept their temporary item transfers (both to and from the temp house), the GMs could also be employed, by appointment only, to assist.

After all is done, could a player conceivably then demolish this temp house before the 30 day deadline and receive a deed for use at a later date, say, to help transfer items from the next house if they happen to have multiple houses? If so, is there a limit for how many times a player can demolish, receive a deed, and place the temp house again?

I've no problem helping people move REALLY heavy chests and such from house to house during this whole issue. But it's going to be a limited offer. I'll only offer it for the first 20 days of going live and I'll limit it to only moving chests. I am NOT going to move hundreds of items for each person.

Hopefully that will make the transition easier for alot of people.

I would suggest this scenario:

Player pages with a request for a deed that would be identical to the house you are leaving. The GM gives the deed and marks your name and house local down. And they personally demolish it after 3 days.

OR

They can adjust the bankbox limit to 50,000 stone and maybe 700 items(put stuff in bags to avoid too many items) and change it back after 2 weeks of the shard being online fully.

TBH most people have more than one hosue that they can move stuff back and forth and if not they can trust a friend to provide temporary lodging for the process.

I would also suggest that a ban on PKing people moving items from the houses. The players would have to label themselves as moving by wearing all red clothing that will be provided by staff(robes).
Any player that kills someone who is moving gets jail time and monetary fines in proportion to their wealth. Any player abusing the red clothes moving rule would also be jailed and fined.(like wear red all the time even when not moving lol)

I think that this would be a good solution that is least labour intensive for staff.

But it is totally up to them. Perhaps they have some great plan allready :P

ciao!

im not sure the bank box would really help... it might though. placing a temp house next to your old one sounds like the best idea. though I do like the pk'ing free idea!

Moving issues aside, I think what everyone is most concerned about is the replacement of permanent additions to their soon to be demolished house(s).

Again, is this going to be something that a GM needs to be present for when preparing to demolish/re-place one's house? Perhaps if you replace your house in the same exact position within a certain amount of time all of those items will remain in place?

The new housing system looks awesome. However, something needs to be said addressing this issue whether it be "Sorry, ladies and gentlemen, since we are starting over you are losing everything you can't move yourself." to "We are aware of this issue and hope to have an answer for you soon. Hopefully before your house begins it's excellerated decay."

I can't believe that an issue such as this has been brushed off so lightly. With a supposed renewed interest in recruiting new players just around the corner, it would seem to me that attempting to keep veteran players at least somewhat happy would be crucial to that end. However, telling people to buy another house (which shouldn't be so hard) and move all of the stuff yourself (without addressing the permanent fixtures) just to have to move it all back on a shard that advertises itself as a PvP shard (not addressing the transportation issues the prospects of which that I'm sure more than a few vile souls are drooling over) only to cap it all off with "See how simple it is." just boggles my mind.

I appologize in advance if that sounds a bit harsh. The changes are great. The time everyone puts in is awesome and underappreciated. But if you're going to be quick and cold about something, just state it as such and don't try to make it sound like we are all a bunch of winey brats.

Again, slap me on the pee-pee if you feel the need to. At least I pride myself on making a polite gripe with just the right amount of sting in it. Hopefully others will agree with me. 8)

And echo has always helped me move my things that i couldnt. So maybe we should just chill a bit and wait and see. :D And i would slap ya cybershamn but nah lol.
