thanks for the info GMB!
as far as rides go, at least i got that backup shrunk llama. it's sort of like the bat-bike for when the joker stole the batmobile in the original tounge-in-cheek "batman" t.v. series. yeah, it may be funny looking but it will get you around!
my prediction: watch the price of shrunk rides skyrocket like the price of oil for a while. go go gadget tamers!
anyhoo! what's the next big issue after everyone gets their ride situation back to where they like it? is there anything we should focus on as we test? if not, i think i'm just going to fire up a shrunken llama and go fishing. (major fishing boner when i read about the new fish, btw!)
oh wait! last night my vendors were wandering around like zombies. kinda freaked me out at first. i'm going to finish checking the boards and then hop on to see about a llama. cheers all!

shard is down, working with broadband to get it back up.
Again, hardware teething issues with the new physical server.
EDIT: Looks like it's back up now.
EDIT: And it went down again around 6 hours ago. We'll get this solved hopefully next itme broadband logs in. Something in his new server hates obsidian.
Also thank you all for the bug posts already, and even if it looks like forum spam, i do want each one in a seperate thread, that way we can delete/lock the ones that are fixed.

I'd just like to apologize to all the players with the server instability. It is unacceptable, and we had no clue it would be like this, the test server has been running over a month with no problems. We're working to figure out what about the new server is conflicting with the shard.

If it's Vista on there, go to dos prompt and type format C:. For things like this it's very unstable.

How many staff does it take to screw in a light bulb?
One to script it.
One to debug it.
One to place it.
One to take the player pages bitching about it.
One to tell the others that they got it all wrong.

If it is worth it in the end then it is something that has to be done. Thanx for all the hard work guys.

I agree wholeheartedly! Also, is someone keeping a "dev journal" or something? I'm sure there are some funny stories in there somewhere.
For example: "...it looked like it would work and it did. However, it was precisely then that BB's cat knocked over his beer which he had just placed on top of the server case..."
I think it would be neat if BB took some pics of the new server/setup. I'm sure that there are more than a few uber-geeks that might appreciate that. Who doesn't like geek-pr0n complete with Penthouse Forum-esque information about the rigs themselves?
