Post subject:  UO Scripting

I know that I'm a n00b and all considerig how long a lot of ppl have been playing UO but I have a character problem. I use the menu to create macro with the GUI interface and it doesn't save them no matter what kind of macro it is. Now take in mind I'm just trying to do like auto attack last target, use skills so I can get to the freaking pointer and click on the target and stuff. Nothing for ANY of my characters gets saved weather I keep backups and replace the txt files for the macros but no matter what I do after I log out my macro is GONE for any character. Any advice on this?

The attack last, attack next etc have never seemed to work here for me, I dont know why. Most others like last object, cast spell, all names etc will work fine though.

attackLast works fine, it's simply that it uses Your lastTarget as a target,
not what You've actually attacked. Never tried attackNext, though.

But I think there's another problem here:

You CAN'T manually edit macros.txt file while obsi client is running. Just
being loged out isn't sufficient.

Then there's another thing with editing existing macros in-game. Say You
have a macro of useSkill(whatever) > delay(20) > useSkill(whatever). If
You change the delay to say 30, it'll get moved to the beginning of macro.
What makes You recreate every part.

Make sure You don't have two or more macros on the same hotkey.
Another long shot: You do press "Apply" when finished?

Hope that was helpful.

Allow me to clairify, I create the macro, verify it doesn't have another macro binded to it, I do apply it to save it then click ok. I am not editing the macro.txt file. I am using the options GUI in order to create all macros. It saves it initially but I log out, log in as the same character and the macro I saved is gone. Look at the macros.txt file and the macro is gone. I looked at the file in detail during this process of recreating the macro and it's in the txt file AFTER I log out and close obsidian, but it's gone again after I re-log in, doesn't matter if I log in with the same character or a new character, the macro file for that character (I know each character you create there is a different macro, I have been practicing the rule of RTFM thassius so no snide comment in there PYRoS and Thassius) and I am looking at the file and everything was created properly. Not sure what's causing this or how to fix it?

I really don't know what's causing this then. Try editing macros.txt manually
maybe? Although, it should be smth trivial..

Just for the peace of mind: You open Macro pane in Options, press Add,
choose a Key, choose Actions, press Apply and Okay?

Yes for your peace of mind I am clicking APPLY then OK to SAVE the scripts. THe scripts stay saved UNTIL I log back in. I've tried manuall editing the TXT file but it never takes, I put in the right scripting code and it doesn't like it when I boot up the obsidian loader and reverts back to the default.

ok well it is getting to advanced for me with all this scripting nonsense... but i had this probelm once and all it was was simply i wasnt hitting add macro i was just making it over the one currently displayed...somtimes the only way to fix an advanced problem is simple :)
