Post subject:  Reagent Pharming Tips

Since everyone is so hell bent on assuming the system is broken because their impatient I decided to give a little help.

This will be VERY basic help as the detailed mechanics and strategy of farming you need to figure out yourself.

- Reagent farming allows you to harvest multiple reagents for profit or use
- Supplies can be purchased from NPCs in Haven
- Seeds can ONLY be planted in reagent gardens
- The only available reagent gardens are located in Haven ATM
- It takes 24 hours for a plant to fully mature
- The more you care for the plant the more crop you'll harvest
- Grey colored plants are infested and require pesticide
- The longer a plant is infested the less crop it will have
- If a plant is infested too long it will die
- You can apply pesticide anytime for treatment or preventative use
- Fertalizer helps plants yield more harvest

I seen on another shard, they made garden deeds...You could place one at your house and then grow regs in it...Dunno if it would be possible to script that (or if NN would wwant it that way) but atm it seems, that a few players can hold on to the entire reg farming marked, simply by being lucky enough to be the first ones there after the last delete of peoples planted regs...

And to me, that kinda takes all the fun out...It's a kewl new feature but if it only becomes available to a few, simply because of teh small amount of gardens, then it's no fun anymore... (IMO anyway)

All the people who are rich and play alot on obs have the reg gardens owned. When you go there, theres never any seeds, the only people there own pretty much most of it. The people who cant come on to obs 24hrs a day cant even get one plant in the garden. It's a very frustrating new feature.

i would say to allow planting in other specified areas or even in the wild like growing pot, but limit it to 2-3 plants of each regs so "EVERYONE" can grow it and not just the already wealthy and who dont have a life playing obs 24/7

The thinking hurts... Oh and Everyone remember. Don't EVER play harvest moon. What a POS game. It has nothing to do with nothing, farming just reminded me of it.

Maybe if there was like a farming skill, and there could be some back-up skills to support it, kind of how for fishing u need cooking and taste id. It would leave some people to make a farmer, and make it take as long or longer then fishing and mining, that way the people that are loaded with regs and have a farm for the hell of it will either decide not to make a farmer or work their asses off to keep those regs they planted...
just an idea :P

Nah, I like the one for gamecube the best. its the newest one, the best graphics, more detailed, more things to do, hook it up to your GBA, actually establish relationships with people, you can tell how good of freinds u r with a person by looking at their facial expressions. You can make hybrids of ur own seeds, plant trees, fertilize ur soil, make an entire milking room. Animal care is much more detailed and complex, raising cows requires alot of detailed work.

So HA! The onse for NGC is alot more detailed and much more work, lol, one season is only 10 days long but one day lasts like 5 days in any other harvest moon game, and when you sleep its only for a MAX of 6 hours no matter what time oyu go to bed, gotta but ur own food, or plant it or whatever. you can store many things in a cooler, you have only a dairy shipping bin, the rest of ur crops u gotta sell whenever the buyer is in town. You can get a kid and whatever you expose your kid to(eg. Animal care, sports, etc.) determines what profession you kid will actually GROW UP to be.

Making friends with people around town allows them to visit you, whenever you walk past them in town they smile at you, or will talk to you. It's plainly more detailed, more work, many mopre paths and choices. Whew, still more but im tired of typing. so there ya go.

heheheheh, I know I went overboard, but i think i proved that the NGC is better then the PSX in many ways, more work, better graphics, more detailed, more paths to follow. heheheheh.
