Hi folks. How you doing? Been a while since I logged online (I think 3 years). I really could an update on Obsidian. Like I can't seem to find the usual stat-window for your character, only a minimalistic or cluttered one. It's been replaced?

Also noticed that crafting changed, and I seem unable to craft "created by Ambient" -stuff anymore.. just says "created by a master". What's up with that?

Anything else I should know about Obsidian? Could use an update, as said.

Hi Ambient,

Good to see you. I'm not sure what you mean by that stat-window but for adding your name to items you make - you might need to use the command ".makersmark" to toggle your name on and off.

It will be a long read but it might be worth having a read through the change log (possibly from where you left off) to catch up on what's changed so far...

See...here

:)

Hi my (tax) man, good to see you to! How are you doing, and what happened with the community? Seems a lot have happened since I "left". I'll read up on the game-updates for a starter, thanks.

Oh It was named character status not stat window.. I'll provide a image of it.:)

I'm very well, thank you.

Ah yeah, that one has been replaced. You're probably seeing this one now, right? It came with one of the updates some time ago. I think it is the standard stat window across UO now. I see it on other shards that I visit from time to time.

Ah, yea those are the ones. I guess it's not possible to get back the old one?

I feel kinda sad for not been gaming for a long time now, not sure why I haven't... guess one thing is that I've used nothing but Linux-based OS the last years (Arch Linux in particular, great stuff!).. so with the lack of support for games I sorta gave up playing, not played anything really since Obsidian T3A. But with this years game-news for Linux (Ubuntu mainly) I guess I got reminded of how great it was playing Obsidian an hour here and there. Running Obsidian in Wine worked great good enough.

So, what should we do to get Obsidian populated again?

I think that is like the million dollar question dude. I think a lot of people are just busy will life, can't nail it down to a particular reason.

I would just say to everyone - play when you can. You never know, if a few get online - it may stir the interest of a few others.

:)

I think someone should set a date for everyone to get on for a player hosted event or something. Maybe some people will logon for that, have prizes since we cant get staff to do anything.

Greetings Apoc an Blob!

I tried starting again with putting out a house.. but the good ones are already taken with decayed houses. Would love to see them removed.

Also, I got 3 boxes/packages with house content.. clicking them they tell me I need to stand inside the same kind of house it was packed from to unpack.. but I recall I packed not only the content with the house but the house itself with them, perhaps I'm mistaken on that one, did you get your whole house "packed down" with the transition from t3a to t4a or something?

.packhouse Disabled at the moment (TY Euroman for the update)

--when used inside one's house will move all the contents of one's house into a storage pack present.
--when one double clicks the present it will unpack the contents and everything will return to where it was
--One must unpack your house into the exact same type of house it was packed up in.
-- you should unlock all your lockdowns and secures before packing your house.
(from here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20831)

I think it is a feature of t4a Ambient - but I think it is still disabled (according to the forum section on commands anyway!). You might have to ask for some staff help on that one.

Thanks Tax Man, I might remember wrong about the actual house being packed. Was a long time ago. But I still has 2 deeds left atleast, a tower and a 3-room:er. Might be that 1 or 2 of the content-boxes are for them...

I think I'll go online later and do some research!

PS. Sorry for misspells and forgeting word in earlier posts.
