well, been killing some shadows lately, and they tend to be a bit harder as normal monsters
but the loot from them is the same. some players say they give more fame and karma, but i havent noticed that.
so, a poll to see how we feel about that .

Some of them already drop treasure maps sometimes, you need a good cartographer and a miner to dig the treasure up. good luck training cartography

hm thought that was just a hoax about the treasure maps..never saw any in the game, and never heard about someone digging a treasure up.... |

nope no hoax The treasure maps were droppped by shadows which healed many many times (sometimes 100+) however im not sure if anyone got any of the treasure as Cartography is pretty hard to get good in |

This is a VERY good idea. I really hope a GM looks at this post because in the grand tradition of the game, the harder the monster, the better the loot, so why should it be different for shadows? This will also give people a REASON to kill them too. |

I have found the orc camp slightly ammusing.  5 people will be pounding on an orc. Orc dies 5 people locate next orc. 5 people will be pounding on the next orc Orc turns into shadow orc 5 poeple flea in terror 5 people run back to the mine leading shadow orc(s) 5 poeple decide to go hammer on zombies in Cove GY Lone Noob explores outside of cove mine to see what is there. Lone noob is ambushed by 3 shadow orcs and a few other orcs.

heh happened quite a few times to me, but it would rule indeed if shadow monsters gave either more gold or random items randomly. would make them worth to try to fight them |

Ive killed a few shadows in cove orc camp and u get less from them than normal orcs on the other hand they last longer and teach u to fight better. |

agreed..i just used to use shadows to train up my healing and other skills...works well if you take some ar off. and i do believe that some shadows do drop blackrock ore...its just very rare they do as blackrock ore is like the dogs danglies, it would be silly if everyone was walking round with blackrock ar |

yeah, I used to periodically go and clear the newbie fort of shadows for you guys, but I'm long past 20 now |
