i think the kill system is a litl messed up as it is now,

i think you should only get kill added if you did damage recently and in a large amount to the target

there is 2 story for ya:

--i am hunting with a friend( lets call him Bob as a random name)
i am fighting a monster in close combat, bob trow a explode pot by the monster, my char automatically go attacking him as a reply, i correct my target after the very first hit( -15), we kill the monster and move on, kill some others, bob die to a greater slime 10 mins later... indeed i get a kill and turn red!


--i am sitting at the bank with Bob, he say something about my mom, i trow him a single lightning so he feel the power of my magic, he then start being nice and i didnt intended to kill him anyhow so the fight dont go any farther. 10 mins later, after bob fully healed, Billy show up at the bank start messing around with Bob, kill him while i do not deal a single damage. i get the kill.. 13 hours added between me and blueness

so yeah my pvmer who kill 1 person every month been red for the past 3-4 months, he just turned blue yesterday and he went red again because of some monster killing my hunting buddy..

i think that need to be fixed, if you are not a crafter u go red just playing the game and being nice as it is..
plus i think the amount of time needed to decay a kill is a litl too much.. 13 hours of online laytime without being allowed to leave our character unattended is a lot of time

I've been meaning to put in a "forgiveness" system, i've just had a hard time figuring out exactly how i want to implement it.

Basically there are two ways i could do it, one is a toggle, that would determine whether you assign kills when you are killed.

The other would be a popup of some type, or a command, that "forgives" the last person who gained a kill from killing you.

Again, haven't actually coded either of them, i figured the second option would work the best, but if anyone has any ideas other than these two let me know.

Ok, so right now the toggle is the winning suggestion.

The only downside i see to the toggle system is you have to remember to turn it BACK ON when the pks come.
So, everyone clear?

what do you mean turn it back on? shouldnt it just pop up "blah blah killed you do you wish to asign a kill? yes or no?"

kinda like the logging out part of the game or somethin thats what i was imagining unless if i completely misunderstood due to lack of actually deciding to comprehend what i was reading...

This is what I thought Bob was talking about. I re-read his post I quoted and realized I made a mistake. A small pop up just like the jail bail window asking if you'd like to report the kill sounds pretty convenient.
