I keep reading ideas and then along comes sombody and says that like that other game, or thats just like in blah blah. If im not mistaken runescape as well as other UO shards ppl play have a huge player base, depending on the shard of course and thats because of all the different shit they offer so my point is so what if its like other shards? obs is unique yeah but right now our "uniqueness" is boring for the most part not because its too hard and what not but because its the same shit over and over, we do need new monster, items etc. and who cares if its like other shards with the billions out there things are bound to be common one way or another. Ofcourse its just my opnion but i think i make sense. Id rather have rare shit that i had to work for to show my age on this shard than to be 100 and have the same shit a 20 yr old player has. Something i find a little rediculous is the fact that new players are running round in verite and on oytras back in the day that shit was never seen because it took a while to work up the money or skills to get these things. Just like in real life not everybody should be equal, some ppl are gna drive carollas and some ppl are gna have mercedes. Whatever im prolly gona get alot of ppl bitching on here but its my opinion.

No euro its not sad because according to the system thats in place now as long as u put the time and effort into a player you should get the gains, a month in cove if used wisely can accomplish that and its normal

lawl, ya its kinda funny
i do agree more rares,
i think the thing that f***** the noob situation up is because of the hunting of monsters
u get same gold per hour hunting w,e tf u wanna hunt so those noobs at the end of the day get stuff besides weps rivalling the money of older players
and the things noobs have access to info wise (people just telling them the best way to do shit and how to do shit thats rare and tricks they learned growing into obsi) are to abundant, no exploration, they just are told the best way to do them, they do them, and now there rich lol, thats players faults imo
now noobs move through the common cycle quicker
ya know, play for a year get OK then quit cuz boredum and come back to play for a year or more b4 anther break in which time they will collect wealth
but ya gtg so im not gonna finish this post lawl maybe later wish me luck on my mid term!

Ya a month or actual hard work.
Not a week of macro that puts the player to GMing almost all his skills. Besides the harder skills to macro
being Resist and Poisoning.
That not hard work....thats just being lazy and letting a macro do everything.
So why is having a new player own an Oytra if he has earned it. Is it not the samething. Just because he
is new makes it seem unusual for him to own something good? Also might want to check whether that new
character has other characters that provide him with the money.
If they have worked for it and have it then they must have earned it someway.

Right now obsidian has no new players, only new characters. Even people claiming to be new are returning players at best, and assholes using a second (or third) account at worst.
The thing is, cove is supposed to be for new players to get accustomed to the shard. It would be nice if the older players would not take advantage of the security it offers because their too cowardly to train in the rest of the world, but I suppose it just speaks to their personality.
As for the shard being boring, I agree. But there are things that are slowly being added to spice things up. The bucks den nexus comes to mind. Echo is working on getting boat battles up and running again, and I'm sure we will see a ton of new things if this crafting patch ever materializes. Rare items will start to come to the surface as we get closer to lifting the beta tag.

honestly it doesn't seem that different on the crafting side of things, just keep clicking that button eventually you'll get something cool!

The few new players we have are friends of vets, thats where i think these players have the items and mounts they do. I understand why account creation is down but I think that account creation should be enabled after this crafting patch is put in because new players will be fully aware that it is in beta and will anticipate changes. I think it is the lack of players causing this shard to be so boring.

You have no idea how long i was in Cove gv training ever since the .healrate patch Shadow Hunter has healed 900 times, Hemlock has healed over 1500. I was in there alot. And i have been playing here for years i think i know how to train a warrior fast.

As for me Hemlock.
Yet, it seems that since recently weapons have become a little stronger than they used to be. Which
makes macroing in the graveyard easier. Not to mention that since one can kill a number of them without
dying they can simply macro 10k bandies and just never worry about dying.
Ill admit I used the graveyard too. Not to GM all my skills, not even one. I simply wasted the time to gain
my needed strength and then I went out into Obsidian and trained.
Its pretty cheap now that new players have a whole month not to poof. In the old system it was like 2
weeks and then you were left to die if you were attacked. By being able to poof a whole month, which is
the amount of time you are allowed to be in Cove, then one can macro and never worry about if they die
when they come back to their PC.
Seems like an easy way for people to GM multiple skills without ever hunting, worrying about dying, or
putting in the effort of training yourself. You leave it up to a macro one created to do everything.

Focusing on more important stuff at the moment, like combat/etc balance.
I do have lots of fun rares planned for certain monsters (every boss level monster will have a unique item, along with unique abilities being re-enabled). A few already have theirs. Just mostly those are for-fun projects to prevent burnout, so i don't do them unless i'm starting to tire of whatever big project i'm working on at the time.
Be patient, i promise stuff's comming. but ya'll gotta realize while i like discussion on everything, don't hold it against me that i can't do everything at once. Instead go in the directino of WHAT would be cool to have, not that it would be cool to have it.
