Well im sure many will agree with me, But it sucks hunting.. for one imparticular reason the off chance of the monster dropping the items it has on it. Dosen't it make more sense to just leave the items on monsters ? i dont understand why they introduced the chance of things dropping and im not talking about wep drops or special armour drops just the items the monster has on it.

If someone understands the reasoning behind this please share as im interested in why the f*** someone would do it

I believe the reasoning is because people were making more money fighting weaker monsters, so instead of balancing it by making harder monsters drop more money they did it this way. :?

But still the chances of wep drops are still screwed.

I noticed that while I hunted some snow/ice/shadow monsters they did not drop any weapon in any higher chance that a normal monster wud do.

So lets say, if I kill 10 shadows I get no drops. if I kill 10 snows I get no drops. If i kill 10 ice I get no drops, but if I kill 10 regular, I get 1 drop. So out of those 30 shadows, ice and snow I get less drop than 10 regular monsters. So the thing is, cant there be put a higher chance for those monsters (shadow/ice/snow) to drop weapons? Also you could improve the chance for shadows/snow/ice either to turn ice/snow/shadows...like I had the chance to fight like a Snow Shadow Drake, dropped some cool gold (around 5k) but no wep drop at all...and I can tell that soloing it was hella hard!

bob i actually agree with belg on the first part
you make more money for less effort hunting less monsters,
only reason to hunt shadows is the rare chance on weps
only reason to hunt snows is the rare chance on weps and a snow bucket..

other than that you can stick to wrong npcs and lower shame lol

look bob u can make sarcasm post too like the rest of us, but still the loot system SUCK... and if u r gonna start whinning about us cus we dont give u "PERFECT" explanation, well this system is useless i dont like it and i want the old one BUT fixed, what mean fixed, means that when u kill a mob he drops GOLD i dont wanna a bunch of crap that i need to pick up and go to sell, if the mob drops stuff that worth 250-500gp i dont care i want the 250-500gp in cash.


if i kill a damn zombie i want my 35-100gp and if i kill a drake(or some hard mob) i want my 2500-4500gp + plus....


and all this "economy recession"..lol.... in game is in part of the crappy loot system........


and i just talk by myself cus dunno if the rest agree with me or not about this.

for one thing having monsters only drop gold makes no sense..... if you killed a deer in the forest you would not get gold you would get a hide and meat. if you killed a cougar you would get the same. spiders dont carry money bags around. why would monsters have money on them? they can't waltz into vesper and buy anything.


and I dont think i ever killed a zombie that dropped 100 gold.


personally I think monsters shouldn't have any gold, maybe just a few shinys they pick up but not 5k worth.

i can understand the dragons hoard loot mentality but they dont carry it around in their pockets.

omfg of course that animals wont drop gold DUH ! and i know that spiders dont drop gold and stuff im talking about the mobs that drop it !

and of course i was just making a point when i say about the drop loot on zombies and drakes omfg!!

Umm, just my $.02

What difference does it make if a drake drops 450 gold or 4500 gold. It's a 0.
I mean i understand the mentality of "i want lots of gold". I don't practice it, but i understand it.
I actually keep a relatively small amount of gold on-hand, which sucks when i want to buy a new rare someone's found. But then i hunt up for it.

Anyway what i mean is 90% of what people spend money on is player to player transactions.
Everyone has to deal with the same loot system, so the only difference is prices go up or down depending on how much gold monsters drop. It's still the same amount of time hunting to buy a horse for 18k when drakes drop 4500 a kill (4 kills), as it is to buy a horse for 1.8k when they drop 450 a kill (4 kills).

The only real exception to this is houses and taxes, for the most part. I mean reags have been dropped down to near nothing, arrows as well, so even equipping doesn't cost much anymore. Thank GOD for arrows btw, i like being able to buy them instead of forced to stockpile.

And i know i'm probably alone here, but i thought it was kind of silly people could hunt for 1 hour and buy a new house after every run. I know one player who actually did this just to see how long it'd take him to fill up an island he had (3 days, all small houses).

duo i think your correct to a point
but in this system, some monsters dont even drop gold.. just items..
I think gold should be brought up to where you no longer see this..
ALSO
like you said, houses and guild stones...
way to much more work for them ton it down a bit..
I cant say this part sucks for noobs.. seeing as a noob can hunt mass skeles for about the same rate as you get for hunting drakes...

see the system bob put in if im not mistaken, puts it so you get the same gold/ loot per hour no matter what monster u have
so it makes sense... that peopel hunt skeles now LOL no effort same loot...

differentiating loot from monster to monster makes sense...
drakes should have more gold.. thats what there known for in all RPGs set in a era with dragons and stuff. shiny stuff gems and gold..
giants should drop weps..

without this monsters might as well be grey blocks with things that say, back up and explode.. or throw rock and chase... cast and move back..
it gets boring. like this..

yeah but those who are hunting only skeles aren't gonna get any good loot besides gold.
i mean sure you'll have a ton of magic chainmail, but that'll be it besides your gold.

Also i wouldn't say you get better gold/time kililng low stuff. I've gotten great returns on deceit and destard, shame is definitly not bad.
Plus one bag from a higher monster and that doubles+ the gold i've gotten from that hunt.

um... why this post is stupid
1) you do know that dears and cougars don't drop any gold in game right?
2) without a press or mines that u can go to get gold and produce gold, monsters are the only way to bring currency into the game
3) Monsters are evil.. currency is the root of all evil.. and base of modern man. imo
are you suggesting, have no way to get money in game? and we revert to bartering for all goods?

edit- and ya duo,, like i said the magic weps would be the only reason to hunt those higher monsters..
sorry to break it to you, but no one wants the side loot, your one of the few that loots everything. people want the gold and go. cuz half that stuff we'll never use... so my question is besides the magic drops..
if you just want gold. why wouldn't you just do skeles? cuz you definitly won't die.. your getting the same return... you dont have to sell much lol...
its just all around better besides the rare drops...

I dont see why you see a prob in raising the gold levels in higher monsters to accomidate for all that extra effort your putting in...
