I don't remember this getting discussed in class discussion, nor did a search for this topic give any results so forgive me if this thread is irrelevant.

On the chart, it says a Smith can only get to 50 in lockpicking. This doesn't really make sense to me, as I would think if you are very skilled in blacksmithing and especially tinkering, one should be a natural with mechanical locks.

Perhaps you could cut another skill to 50 instead. Perhaps we could have a vote as to which skill that we all could agree isn't really practical for a Smith.

Some candidates could be:

Enticement
Healing
Peacemaking
Provocation
Spirit Speak

Edit: ARGH!!! This should have been in class discussion. Note to self.. do not post on forum while drinking beer. Sorry GMbob!

Smiths are capped at 50 tinkering as well. Making armor is very different than smithing locks, even though they blacksmith and locksmith both end in smith.

Smiths are good at big forms and strengths
Artificers are better at intricate details and things that break easy.

Eh well tailoring seems a bit sissy for a blacksmith on that same token... but I accept this as "suggestion denied" lol

I held the same argument when it first came out, as i had a Gm smith/miner/tinker it made sense to me to have all the skills in one, lock picking didn't really though as most of that occurs in dungeons and Ankh wouldn't last a min even in cove lvl 1!
