A mage with GM magery and GM poisen should be able to do more dmg with the poisen spell than someone who uses a deadly pot at gm poisen because a mages poisen is ,or should be, affected by both poisen and magery skills as they are both used.

poison should be equal across the board.
mages should be evened in other terms, not this way

So does this mean that pots should be affected by poisoning and alchemy skills?

Mages already have a boost by being able to cast deadly poison for less NS then it takes to make the pot.

Poison should hit the same regardless of where it comes from. It's like saying "which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks".

poison is poison, and a pound is a pound.

I agree, just not with your analogy,
its like saying which weighs more, a pound of feathers on the moon or a pound of bricks on earth,
obviously when you switch platforms (mage to warrior) this will differ.
And i think skills should be looked at, as what balances things. not whether there exactly the same across classes

I don't have a problem with the amount of damage it does other than the fact that a warrior can cure it instantly and heal the damage it does.

Maybe GM poison + Gm alchy + Gm Magery cud do more dmg, and see a diff setup on some chars..

It would be cool to see a combination of 2+ skills to affect the efficiency and damage of casting/melee... like gm smith + gm tactics and gm swords wud fail less when swinging and deal more damage...

Also a GM smith with some magery and some magic items could craft magic weps and stuff like that..

You ever see Pirates of the Caribbean? The main guy (I forgot what his name was) was a smith who made a sword for some nobleman or governor or something like that...He knew how to make a great sword because he knew how to use it, how it's supposed to feel, and how it's supposed to be balanced. He had to know how to use the sword if he wanted to make a better one. With that in mind, I'd live to see proficiency in a melee skill add to the ability to smith a better weapon in that skill.

then that would mean a warrior would also have to add Smithing as a skill to GM
in order to use a sword....if that happens then a regular skill has to be taken
out in order to make room for smithing, am i getting you correctly Azimuth?

azi.. i dont remeber that scene at all LOOOOOL honestly, no recollection of the main character (johnny dept) smithing a sword only he can use.....
Or the only black smith in the movie (secondary main character guy person) with the famous pirate as father,
only scene he smithed a sword was kinda mass smithing,
and does this mean, that no one would be able to use that one sword besides him? ... oh ghosh looting a more powerful weapon, you cant use, that is great! higher risk of dieing lower gain,, would suck to PK that person,

um ya he used his own sword, but who said johny couldn't use his sword either?....
i was thinking of that scene, and ya, that was a mass production shop...
everyone could use one of those swords, that was proficient in long swords or w.e.. i would guess...

the only way you can make a sword that is only profiecent to you, you would have to make a new type of sword...

guy 1 makes katana
everyone uses katanas
guy 2 comes with broad sword

guy 1 picks broad sword and cant use it...
only way...
swords in one region of the world isnt the same as others.

EG. a viking picks upa krysses,,,,
not gonna end well for the viking
(vikings were profiecent in spears which under obsi is fensing)
but you cant expect to add an extra blade to a battle axe and not expect a viking to quickly be able to use that, or unbalance it, and not expect a good warrior to find a way to use it

I'm all for being realistic too but realisticly you don't have enough room now for all the skills you need to make a good warrior. Where tf do you want to put smithing too?

i think its more along the lines of having a combat skill on your smith will let you be able to craft a better weapon of that class. so like, having gm swordsmanship on your blacksmith means he knows alot about how a sword works and what not, like the example from pirates, and that'll lead to you being better at making swords-type weapons.

ill throw something in on topic, and say that being that you need 2 skills as a mage and your wasting mana which is like, very important for a mage lol, poison damage by spell should be higher than from a pot imo

Isn't that pretty much what arms lore is tho?
