I have been fishing for a little while now the new way and i hate it. I would like to know other peoples opinion on it. |

I'd like to offer a third option and one I'd choose: Keep fishing the way it is now but remove the whole "there are no fish here" deal. Thoughts? |

There is more to it than that tho. A typical cast goes like this, you cast it says you pull back the rod and stop fishing it does that 5 or 6 times then it says you fail to catch any fish then repeats for atleast 3 or 4 times. I have gone through 10 rods just to fish all the fishable tiles on one side of a bridge.

eh? I've done some pretty thorough testing on fishing and it only gives that message for me when i try to cast before anything has been fished up. Sometimes there are 3 splash animations before any message - sometimes 2 but if you're getting that message then you're recasting your fishing line too quickly. Just give it a bit more time. Also I'm pretty sure drops have been changed to accomodate this since the rate of return for the time put in seems to be about the same to what it used to be except I think fishing up fff is alot easier now. Just wait a bit longer before recasting - if that doesn't sort the problem, set up a time and i'll do my best to get ingame to help out. |

For the record, regardless of the actual merit of this poll, the way it was made is what's called a LOADED QUESTION.  In the future, try making polls that aren't loaded, they get more respect. For those who have no clue what i'm talking about, the optiosn on this poll are basically either: 1. I want it changed. 2. I'm a moron. --- CORRECTION: Ok wow, he actually did put I'm an idiot into the poll option. I strike the next statement. --- Belgarion just used different wording on it. --- strickenAnyway announcement over, continue discussion |

lmao hey i actually went through a little fish testing, and fishing just puts me to sleep faster now  thats all that changed, i get the same amount of fish per poll, more FFF i dont mind, it just bores the shit outta me, even with music its kinda crazy, i can sit and look at a blank screen and listen to music and not get bored but when i fish and listen to music, it bores me to sleep lolz is fishing actually more boring then staring at a blank screen? jesus christ lolz must suck for the people who do it IRL

Yes it was sort of loaded but seemed fitting, I guess it was more like a colourful way of just saying it sucked and thought it would be more comical to do it in a poll. But echo came and saw me in game and i think we have it figured out why i was going through so many fishing rods. And 1 other thing i find is that having to target every tile manually is such a strain on your hands and eyes that i think you will either see a severe lack of fishing here or a bunch of half blind, carpel tunnel sufferers no longer able to hold a mouse or even see the screen.

it is kinda annoying lol i wanna grid you can turn on to keep track of where u fished lol cuz it does strain my eyes specially now i have a smaller screen lol |

I have to admit, it is slow & a little irritating & it does actually hurt my hand but then that is probably just as likely to be a result of injury as much of the repetitiveness  Unfortunately I have no constructive suggestion atm

Last object macro also allows you to keep your place with your cursor, making it easier to fish a pattern. |

again it was much easier and less strain to just walk across a bridge and fish at your feet, the only way something should be changed is to make it better and if it is not better it should be changed back to the original. |

as i said before, take up the bridge fishing with broadband. That's one of the things he wanted in because he considers bridge fishing "ugly". It's not my dept. |

BB never sems to comment on anything on these forums but it is possible that he reads them to see what opinions are, but IMO "ugly" is an hour of manually targeting tiles. It is also noobs quitting because they cant find stat fish to build their chars because noone wants to fish for them. That to me is a hell of a lot worse than the un-reality of fishing through a bridge. There was a post b4 something about instead of making skills easy to macro make them more interesting and in my opinion tht was not done at all. If anything fishing was, as impossible as this sounds, made less interesting, and even more time consuming. The point i am trying to make here is that there is a much bigger picture and if you or BB are dead set against bridge fishing then we need to come up with a better solution because this isn't it. |
