Ok guys your never going to budge on the whole warrior archery thing sooooo.....

Instead of limiting the races and different classes in the skills department, how about limiting them in the stats department?

eg a warrior can have a higher str cap than a ranger or mage a ranger more dex than a warrior etc etc

That seems to make more sense?

If not just go OSI style and give us all 700 skillpoints so we can at least gm 7 skills?

lmao that will lead to peopel really being over powered then, i mean people couldn't handle chars with 160 dex raising the limit isnt gonna help anything I r think this idea r a fail

Well i never suggested what you just said what i was thinking was :

Warriors - max dex 110

Rangers max dex 160 - max HP 110

You get me?

The problem is Bob wont change his mind on this i feel no matter how hard we complain / argue the point - He feels he is right and we feel we are right - the difference is he decides :)

It's not really hard to get them into a corner, i always did fine with just melee (and some magery of course :P)

i am not getting that wouldnt that jst limit the warrior more? or are u saying like let them get archery
but limit there stats that might work i dont think so tho who knows
I would think you would have to tweak mages in this situation

how bout a simple change solving it all keep the system the same but having a way higher % failure rate if a mage moves while casting making mages stay on there toes ,
but ya on the other hand if u do happen to get a mage in a e wall which would be eiasier they would be toast
but maybe mages shouldn't fizzle every single time there hit that would be cooler and less fustrating for both mages and warriors mages won't instant get owned by bows having to stick to harm and healing spells constantly during duels

It's not that I won't move on the warrior bow issue. It's that I CAN NOT MOVE ON IT.

Until someone provides an EQUALLY BALANCED option, this is what we're stuck with. I Gave you all a month+ of discussion time to try to come up with an option, instead all i hear is whine bitch bitch moan whine.

Criteria for balanced class limitations:

1. Gives at least 30-40% of the people playing a reason to NOT pick that class for a character of that type.
2. Offsets the bonuses the race gets from the extra skill points and abilities.

Now i have a simple suggestion.
Either shut the hell up with the bitching, or be constructive and offer an alternative.
No stat caps are NOT an alternative because that'll just produce a ton of cookie cutter characters.

It was only a suggestion Bob im not bitching :(

How about this one then, make it so a mage cant move and cast (like on official OSI servers) this would stop them just being able to run rings and give you a chance to get near them without archery, it would also stop the poison lightning poison fs lightning poison spammers - you'd need some skill to use mages - also to combat this you could put the fizzle rate back to how it was (i.e mages dont fizzle very often at all but at least you get a chance to hit them)

I would be quite happy to step in for a good 5+ hours vs a mage for pvp testing purposes, and tweaking here and there trying different alternatives and suggestions untill both parties agree on what they think is best.

casting a spell is supposed to take the upmost attention....shouldn't be able to run and work spells at the same time

Dedo, did you just agree with me?

Hmm I think people would whine a lot with the "can't cast while running" standard of OSI, but on the other hand... perhaps it could be limited to the powerful spells people typically spam the crap out of?

Ie, I think noobs should still be able to run laps around zombies and skeletons throwing magic missles and fireballs.

Well, you know it does kinda SUCK when I and most other players have been training our warrior to near perfection, hunting bows, having a nice stash, that took me over two years (and I'm still not finished.) Then one special day we cannot equip them because of these new classes. Giving us an option to go human when we are vampire (who the f*** would want to do that?) Then I'm pretty sure some people will or have gone vampire and then you will implent an even better race system. Then there f*****, leaving them with nothing. God, I am a bitch machine...

So your saying we should f*** up mages even more? The almost 3 years I've also trained those.
