I was just testing one or two things, like crafting with my blacksmith (who isn't GM), and I was wondering if now gaining skills wasn't based on difficulty. For example, I crafted more than a hundred of daggers ... no gain at all. So I try a gorget to see the difference : 2 gains on 30 gorgets. I've also noticed I was gaining mining faster while smelting colored ore rathen than iron ore. I will also try to train my magery to see if there is a difference between casting a magic arrow and casting a lightning (I can't do higher yet Ok now, I may be dreaming and this is just coincidence. But skill gaining depending of difficulty is a good thing ! This might change a lot of things (if it has been implemented). |

yeah, making daggers is useless now so if you wanna gain skill you have to try to make harder items. |

Since Bob put the skill gains back to the T3A level, does this mean that skill gains are no longer based on difficulty? |

Skill gains are still based on difficulty, i.e. you craft more difficult shit, you have a better chance of gaining skill. The t3a levels are how slow it goes, and again,t hese will be adjusted as time goes on. |

A lot of skills are very difficult to gain points in. My warrior has 36.0 swordsmanship and I gain maybe 0.2 gains in a hour of hunting. Same with archery. Tactics, anatomy and healing on the other hand gain pretty fast. |

by a few i mean about 20...as far as i know they are the hardest thing I can craft atm but i am reluctant to do so since they cannot be sold to vendors :/ seems i am at a stand still with that skill |

My poor dear Dedo who helped instruct me in the secret arts of GMing bowcraft. I feel your pain! Have you tried going old school like you taught me and simply make a butt-load of shafts/arrows/bolts? Or has the new system made that tactic obsolete? (through your instruction I did GM bowcraft, btw.) All this talk about bows and such got me thinking. (which is scary in and of itself. heh) Will a bowyer who has a high archery skill make better bows? Also, has anyone crafted an Elven bow lately and tested it in the field? Also, it would be somewhat cool if bowyers could sell their more advanced wares to NPC vendors. Rock on, peeps and keep on keepin'. |
