Don't believe everything you hear, especially if it's all from around 4 very vocal and very pissed off players.
Broadband hasn't left, he's as here as he ever is, which comes out to a spurt of activity for a week every month or two, plus leaving directions for what he wants to see next.
The current active staff are Echo, Myself, and Drakkar, and sometimes koldoon, with a few of the others popping in when it's convenient.
Most of the development work right now is being done by me, echo, and bb, with most of the ideas being stuff that broadband has always wanted to do but couldn't, or balance adjustments.
What pissed most of the players off was one of two things:
All gold in the game was nuked, because after 2+ years of neglect and rampant imbalances, (such as 120k gold/hour hunting in destard, and bottle duping), the economy was completely stuffed, and the only way to fix it was to either:
A. make everything cost 100,000 gold or more, which just adds lots of needless 0s
or
B. nuke all gold and let it rebalance out to where it originally was.
Also the fact that races and classes were finally adjusted to a system close to how they were originally supposed to be, so a lot of players who's vampires suddenly got less overpowered got really pissed, and run around claiming staff don't listen to players, just because staff doesn't bend to their whims, when the other 70-90% of the players approve of the change and understand why it was needed.
