dude don't just log out and log in.
If you wait like 10 secs all is well.
I usually hit logout and then count to 10 and have no problems.

i find sometimes when i quit obs to change chars i have to open my task manager and end the obsidianpatch.exe process before i can get a new char. For some reason it keeps on running even after you close the patcher.

Well I always kill the patcher in the task manager after I load the client.
Helps down the pc lag.

Should be a thing of the past with the 4.0 client

Unfortunately, at least for me, that isnt' the case. I've actually had multiple instances of obsidianpatcher.exe running at the same time during the past couple days because I've loaded and exited obsi without paying any attention... talk about putting some strain on your processor :?

Hold your horses and pass the potatoes...

The man just said that it was a thing of the past with 4.0 but as far as I know (and that might not be really that much! ;) ) it's not out yet...

I'll say it again. The new client will be released alongside the 4.0 launch. The entire client and patch system are brand spanking new and so far don't have any crashing issues, system resources hogging or bacon grease.

Be patient with the old client for another few weeks and all will be bliss.
