follow the link from the getting started section from the main website, and DO NOT use a download manager or accelerator. This includes apps such as getright and download accelerator, but may also extend to the download managers in firefox and opera - im not sure.

Every time ive downloaded using download accelerator ive had this issue - but downloading from the mirror on the homepage, using a simple (albeit slow) internet explorer download, has worked every time! Try it...

Well, I personally had no problems with Firefox (via Windows or Linux), but you never know. I'd say try without anything, and if you absolutely must, use that terrible blue e.

Is a torrent client much different from a resumable download manager in the way it treats the file?

Like I said, the Obsidian installer seems to dislike anything that messes with the file, downloads it into chunks etc.

A single, wholesome download from the official download site is the most foolproof method.

ya torrents download whatever bit they can at any time they can get it, torents are russamble but download in thousands of little chunks, not in order either
