 Post subject: Skipped Tutorial
PostPosted: Tue Mar 14, 2006 6:20 am
Hi all

I started on this shard about two weeks ago. I haven’t played UO in a few years. I found it weird that I started without a race and that my skills weren’t as good as I selected, everything was at eleven. I played on with my miner until my strength grew up to 66 (a lot of playing). When I stated I skipped the tutorial because it seemed a waste. I just found out that at the end of the tutorial you can actually choose a race and get the correct skills. Is there anyway I can do that now without loosing my character.

Thanks,
George

You can't choose a race now.

Finishing tutorial gets you +10 to str, dex and 750 gp. Skills aren't
adjusted, just what you started with and what you gained during tutorial.

When creating a char always choose "advanced", not a predefined class.
That makes you keep the stats you chose, not 11 to all. And of course
you can choose your own 2 skills to start at 50, instead of predefined
wasted skills.

That's not the case Iori. You create char before entering tutorial.

That's the problem with choosing a predefined class template when
creating char (hence why always choose "Advanced"). IIRC those
templates have whacked off stat settings, which server sees as illegal
and halves them.

I've never got such a "punishment" for skipping tutorial. Other than no
additional str, dex, gold.

Thanks, all. The bottom line is when I started, I skipped the tutorial, because there seemed no reason not to. No warnings. My char then had 11 for all three stats, because I had not taken advanced. So if I knew all of that my char would be much better by now. So in other words a waste of time. :(

Just make a new character? You can have up to five characters on your account. A week after you create a character you can delete it if you want.
