just d/l'd this from Demonoid, ive been missing UO, but this win98 box is being gay, OBSIDIAN caused an invalid page fault in
module OBSIDIAN.EXE at 017f:004b9bbf. any one help a brotha out with this one?

could be win98 sux balls. i doubt id have 17 seeders if my file was corrupted. when ive only had 70 completes especially. Of course it could be protectors torrent. never know will we..

just because u have xx number of seeders means poop, since ppl download anything out of curiousity

um how many torrent have u uploaded? im in the hundreds and i know how people seed and why. If my torrent was corrupt for everyone theres no way id retain 20% of the people who completed it as seeds. Its hard to keep seeds on files that work even..

Well either way, there's a bad torrent floating around out there, because there's been numerous noobs who came into irc, or even posted on here, saying they've got a problem with the install.

So we need to track down which ones f***** up and stop seeding it. Put the pride aside for abit, it's possible your torrents f*****, it's possible Azi's torrent is f*****, hell, it's even possible BB's torrent is f*****.

But it's apparent that somethings not right.

if i could upload torrents I would, tho i cant atm (obsidian torrent), actually if i could i would have up'd it to yousendit and gave out links.. but thats just me.. i've uploaded torrents before... and im sure you've seen torrents on various torrent sites with minimal discriptions and wutnot.. and theres still leechers..

why? because people are curious.

just cuz u seeded xx number of completed torrents doesnt mean those people will actually play, and thats great, good for you.

doesnt mean there isnt people that have no idea what it is and are just downloading it cuz they feel like it, and wont play after the download finishes.

Go google seeders and leechers and learn what they are before u speak about em.

I aint disgruntled either, i dont think its mine though.
Another reason i think this is i check Claughane/Prots torrent every day or so and its stats on demonoid have never changed from 16 seeds 4 leechers. Which is very odd. Never happend to me in 150 torrents.

Someone just ask someone with an error which torrent they downloaded if you wanna know which one it is.

Here Ill do it. Newstrain, which torrent from demonoid did you get. Claughanes or lysols? If you cant remember please go to demonoid and check it out for us and try to remember which one it was. Heres a clue if you still have the Installer. Which do you have Obsidian.exe or Obsidian-1.exe?

I didnt read all that shit ^^^ but some one said they downloaded the file from demonoid and it was corrupt.

Try uninstalling. Fully delete the obsidian directory. Then download the clean installed from the above URL and see if that works.

this all sounds a little familiar to my situation

just finished downloading a torrent - the http downloads all cut out on me around 50% so I got a bittorrent version. Just checking where it came from...

During the install I get an error when it tries to update my .net 1.1 (which I've already updated)

I can go through the whole char select, but as soon as I reach the game it all screws up and windows throws an exception.

the tracker I got it from was:

Pretty annoying if it's a corrupt file.

btw BB - I'm still pissed that my two donations never gave me membership status when I was on here last year :- P you never even replied to my PMs and someone deleted my forum posts...
