It's all up and running. I had to manually adjust the timing, fequency, and voltage of my ram in order to get past the post screen. Once I did that I had no problems. So far I've tried Assassins Creed, Oblivion, Hand of God, Spore, and Unreal Tournament 3. All of them worked at max settings with no slowdowns in 1920x1080 resolution. I'm going to pick up GTA4 and Crysis this afternoon, which will be the real test.

gta 4 is kickass. grats on getting your new box running.

i recommend cryostasis just to see some awesome physx effects the game is ok depending on your taste but is a great show for current gen gfx. world in conflict will test your box more than any game i can think of along with crysis of course.

you should easily get over 200fps in dmc4 and its a cool game and fear 2 is fun. also mirrors edge has some nice dx 10 and gears of war and left for dead are good games.

btw dunno what os you have but you need vista to run games in dx10 you prolly knew that already. i dont think there are any dx 10 only games tho you can just run them in dx9 on xp. a few games are vista only i think halo2 is seems dumb to me whatevah i got vista and xp both anyways.

I have XP, so DX 10 is out. I was bidding on Vista 64 on ebay, but it seams kind of dumb to buy a new OS just to buy another one when Windows 7 comes out in a few months. If I find one for a good deal I'll pick it up, or I'll pirate it and do the trial renewal trick for a year. DX9 will have to do until then.

I had to work late, so I couldn't get to the store. Hopefully tonight I'll have some time...oh, I went with ATI...so no physX...I'm getting mirrors edge anyway...that game just looks kick ass to play.

All the good new games are all counsel ports. Anything thats PC specific (better controls) that you can think of? Darkfall is the reason I did all this, but the main release was delayed AGAIN.

well i know the GoW movement stystem was built first for the PC so, the controls for that really should be spot on, dunno how its dun seeing you have to duck behind something every 10 seconds, but it'll probably be good :)

O and i suggest getting a xbox 360 controller for the Pc, :)

and for drizz, there are adapts for the wired xbox 360 controls for USB so you should look into that :)

and there not crappy like the usuall pc controller and there reaction time is just like it is on the 360 :)

yeah chips i got a wireless adapter so i can use my kickass black 360 controller with pc but kb and mouse is better on any fp shooter rpg or rts imo but for third person or racers 360 controller is great indeed. its really good for gta 4. i also have the microsoft wireless racing wheel it works with the adapter too, even tho i always use the controller instead, burnout paradise owns. got gow for 360 too but as i said i dun like shooters with controller so i play pc version with kb mouse.

yuh azi good thing cuz ati cards perform like shit in vista under dx10 anyways. but they mostly beat nvidia in dx9 mode. dx 10 does look a lot better but dx9 is good too its only stuff like water effects motion blur shit you missing, the ice effects are cool in cryostasis under dx10. mirrors edge is a cool game and graphics are unique but i got bored after a while. its kinda like playing tomb raider with a female jackie chan imo. was best game ever for like the first few hours i played it tho lol.

only reason i using vista home premium 64 is cuz i pretty much want the dx10 effects on my 22" ws hd mon that looks rox but tbh xp is a whole lot smoother os and games run best under xp dx9 they just dont look as good new gen effects wise but they still look great.

some pple will say that xp runs games tons faster than vista but if they both using dx9 then xp is barely faster only reason vista seems slow in dx10 is cuz dx10 is using a ton more gpu than dx9 so yuh of course xp and dx9 is gonna be faster. i want windows 7 too but i make it a rule to not touch a new windows os till its official release is at least one year old so i got over a year b4 i get windows 7, reading good things about it tho mebbeh i will warez it and check it out on a dual boot from my legal vista rofl.

oh i also got cod 4 and 5 both of those games kick ass. if you never played left 4 dead youd prolly really like that. if you get the cod games we can play campaign together online will be fun. the mp is super fun but shit, hardcore servers are tough to survive on. i just tell myself i rox even when i get owned :P

oh and btw azi i think maybe 4 gb ram is a waste in xp it will never utilize it fully also vista 64-bit manages ur 64-bit system a lot better than xp 64 . so when u go to 7 u gonna be happy to see ur hardware full potential prolly. i dunno for sure tho just from shit i read now and then.

Well, I decided to break down and install vista. I downloaded a version from piratebay, which was a mistake....I was expecting a hacked version, but I got a malicious version that will not let me change user control settings and has all kinds of anti-religion messages...so i wiped, reformatted, broke down and bought an OEM copy from my local PC store....Oh, somehow the downloaded version did something to my bios when it installed. The first time my computer rebooted after the install it took forever to post, and when things finally started moving, I couldn't get into the bios without locking up. It might have been a coincidence that my bios took a dump at the exact time as I loaded a hacked vista version, but I doubt it.....luckily my motherboard has 2 bios chips. To overwrite the bad bios with the standby chip all I have to do is press a button on the board.

This experience (along with seeing how far the PC game community has fallen) has changed my mind on pirating software. I've always downloaded everything, but I think I'm going to limit myself to downloading movies and music, and purchase my software from now on. Who knows...if everyone stopped downloading PC games illegally, maybe we would have better PC games today, rather then the clunky ports from counsels.

Thats enough rambling for now...I'm addicted to Unreal tournament 3...gotta go...

lol u just have to be more careful and never ever get anything with an executable off a public tracker like pbay. i have ut3 for 360 but imo its not as cool as the older versions.

demigod is pretty cool having fun with it atm. not sure how long it will take for me to get bored i get bored easy.

if u get cod 4 or 5 lemme know i suck bad but really like to play those. i also have ut2k4 on pc i guess i could buy ut3 for pc too but xkill said his whole clan went back to 2k4 cuz its better. how many pple u see playing ut3 online?

i installed darkfall but havent paid for an account yet since i never get a day off i not sure if it will be worth it for me.

console

coun⋅cil
/ˈkaʊnsəl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [koun-suhl] Show IPA
–noun
1. an assembly of persons summoned or convened for consultation, deliberation, or advice.
2. a body of persons specially designated or selected to act in an advisory, administrative, or legislative capacity: the governor's council on housing.
3. (in certain British colonies or dependencies) an executive or legislative body assisting the governor.
4. an ecclesiastical assembly for deciding matters of doctrine or discipline.
5. New Testament. the Sanhedrin or other authoritative body.
Origin:
1125–75; ME co(u)nsile < AF cuncil(e), OF concile < LL concilium synod, church council (L: assembly), prob. equiv. to L con- con- + -cil(āre), comb. form of calāre to summon, convoke + -ium -ium; ME -s- by assoc. with AF cunseil counsel

Usage note:
Council, counsel, and consul are not interchangeable. Council is a noun. Its most common sense is “an assembly of persons convened for deliberation or the like.” It is generally used with a singular verb. A member of such a group is a councilor. Counsel is both noun and verb. Its most common meaning as a noun is “advice given to another”: His counsel on domestic relations is sound. A person giving such advice is a counselor. In law, counsel means “legal adviser or advisers” and can be either singular or plural. As a verb, counsel means “to advise.” The noun consul refers to the representative of a government who guards the welfare of its citizens in a foreign country.
