hey i thought it was clear that i dont think like that and that i was being sarcastic. but as for the argument of soccer vs football. the only reason soccer is the majority of the worlds chosen sport is cause a lot of the starving overpopulated countries cant afford anything cept a ball to kick around. maybe they can now but they have had generations of soccer players and theyre all hooked on it now. and the brits just do it in hopes that they run into each other and hurt someone during the game cause theyre pain freaks. if they had the choices i do theyd think soccer sucks. there is no way the best soccer athletes in the world can come close to having the athletic ability or skill that the best nfl players do. its hilarious to even think of comparing the two. i agree soccer takes skill, but it doesnt take near the athletic ability. some, but not near as much. and again if the usa wanted to theyd own at soccer but our best are too busy playing REAL sports that pay tons of money instead. if its so good why doesnt anyone here want to see it played? wouldnt the usa have it front and center if it was worth watching? after all we are the very best at everything, its just how it is man dont blame me cause america ownz you. i still like you man. i hope someday you can come live here and see how much we own for yourself. i think soccers kinda cool to play myself. but compared to the nfl its totally boring. ill never understand how anyone could think different. not cause i think america is better, just going by what i see. i watch , and conclude, that soccer is boring and nfl football is totally exciting. just an opinion mate, i got love for ya. |

actually it was a football topic.... did NOT specify what kind of football so necro stfu im tired of your "i hate america and everything about it" attitude american football maybe considered a dumb sport in your country but in America its thought of in high reguards... BUT the only real sport that is worth mentioning is HOCKEY cause hockey takes the most skill out of any sport to play.... unlike soccer and football you have to learn how to move on a blade thats less than 1 centimeter wide learn how to look at where your going and keeping control of a puck that is small and can be at times quiet hard to find... also its the fastest sport in the world... very little stopping.... but soccer is a good sport none the less takes skill also but not as much skill as hockey takes... thats why you never see any black guys playing it -Impe |

Yes sir. Hockey takes more skill than football, soccer, baseball, et all. I think mindset of a lot Europeons is that the NFL is stupid because the play goes on for a few seconds then everyone falls down. It's sad that hockey has such a low fanbase in the southern US. Although I don't agree with your reason why not many blacks play hockey. There's actually a better "stereotyped" reason... (and I've heard a few of my black friends say this) Black people HATE cold weather. |

My country = Canada Canadian LOVE hockey and so do I. It takes harsh skill to play hockey and I love hockey too. But the sucky thing is to play real hockey you need ice, skates, sticks & nets. Dont get me wrong. I used to be one of those kids playing hockey on the streets with tennis balls with my Maroccan friends. I lived right in front of a park and everywinter they'd change the baseball field into a hockey ring with nets. I used to go freeze my ass off every night playing games over and over. Thats what we did. Soccer in the summer and hockey in the winter. I must remind Drizzeh that it's not about money that they don't like Soccer in Europe and Africa. It's quite funny Edit (after reading wizard's post): I got used to freezing my ass off even tho im partly Maroccan. Worst part was my freezing toes in my skates. I think all my toe nerves are dead |

This thread is getting pretty retarted. However, I just wanted to point out that if you're playing on the highest level, be it soccer, football, bball or hockey, you're probably just as athletic. I mean, they all train all day, so they're all in good shape. |

hockey takes mad skill but absolutely not as much athletic ability. hockey players are in nowhere near the shape nfl players are. excluding the fatass lineman lol. hockey takes mad skill and ungodly toughness. pro football requires everything, the whole package, or you just wont cut it. hockey is about a million times funner to watch than soccer though. i didnt say europe was poor jeez whered you pull that from. europe isnt the whole world, i think/hope you know what i meant. everybody has aids anyways. you youngins dont mind me and necro, i cant speak for him but personally im not nearly as close minded as this makes me look. i just like using american cliche to get under necros skin. never ever presume you know how other people think. how could you possibly? could it be youve seen everything there is to see and know everything there is to know? nahhh we all have our strengths and weaknesses. but america gets xbox games first suckers. |

This was a football (non-american) thread, seeing it was about Liverpool and the Champions league, so dont deny it. I think American football players are fit, but bulky. Thats not what I class as athletic. Soccer players are obviously more athletic due to the nature of the game (running up and down a pitch). But there is the exception like fat ass Gazza. IMO american football is a lot about muscle and overpowering your opposition, not much skill, just brute force. And the many games I've been to confirms this. Hockey is one of the most technical sports you can get and I admire players of this sport indeed. Plz dont let this get into a slagging match. |

Soccer > Football. I don't like our league in the US and I don't watch much Soccer, but Soccer is a lot better in many ways. And how can you say they're not athletic?!?! They run around constantly for over an hour... Football is stop n' go every 5 seconds. As for Necro, this is how it works in American Football for a turnover (When other team gets the ball). There are 4 downs (chances). In these four downs they must move the ball 10 yards up the field toward their opponents endzone. Each play counts as a down. If they do not get the ball 10 yards, the opposing teams takes possession of the ball. If they do move the ball 10 yards then it's a first down, in which they repeat this process hoping to score. P.S. Gaelic Football owns all sports. |

To me I just think American football is exciting Football to me is when someone dives into the endzone and having 3 or 4 people tackling him making him do flips and ending up in the end zone or a 12 foot leap over a defender in the air to catch a football. Both Sports are exciting because of the competition the players show but I like having those moments and having strategy maybe it's a American thing to like the thinking process of a game sort of like chess. I just don't know which is better I watched soccor before with my dad just never really enjoyed it the sameway I did with Football and Basketball. Maybe it's just the feeling you get when u knock the f*** out of someone to the ground making him hurt. I mean next to hockey its the only real sport where you can knock the SHIT out of someone and have fun while doing it. Very fun sport to play in bad weather conditions. You can't really play soccor in the snow can ya? |

Hockey fans: Has anyone else heard of this "blue ice" that may be introduced soon to make viewing hockey on TV easier on the eyes? I think it involves a different colored puck too, but I could be wrong. I personally found the tracers they put on the puck when the NHL was on FOX (I think) pretty annoying. If you can't follow a game of hockey... perhaps you shouldn't watch it? I think it's funny to hear hardcore NFL fans say that football has more strategy than hockey and that the penalties and rules of hockey are too complicated. Pass interferance anyone? Heh-heh... |
