Is there ANY way to keep you guys on topic? Or off the thread...eiather way works for me. I just picked up the case I'm going to use. Very plain looking Centurion 534...no flashy lights, no insane graphics or useless buttons and knobs....just great cooling with a black finish and room for expansion. I have to thank my finance for this one...she found it locally for a decent price.. |

The 1 Gig radion 4870 is not the best card out there, but it's far from the bottom.... I'm running into some problems with the CPU though. It seams that the CPU I wanted will not work in the motherboard I choose. The motherboard is an AM3 board, and the processor is an AM2+. AM3 processors will work in an AM2+ board, but AM2+ processors will not work in an AM3 board....so....I'm going to have to get an AM3 processor, but the only AM3 processors that are on the market right now are slower then the AM2+ processor I originally choose. The faster AM3 processors will not be released until next month, and they are going to cost a premium. I really like this motherboard, so I'm not going to budge on that..... so.... eiather I wait a month and pay more money for a better processor or I accept a slower processor but I get to save a little money over my origianl plans |

...and a price tag thats twice what AMD is for similar performance (at least the Phenom II procesors). Here's my updated list. The blue are what I have already bought, the red are items that I know I'm going to buy, and the black items need more research before I'm sure about them.

I opted for the single 12V rail over modular cables. I couldn't afford both options in a quality PSU, and I can't see inside my case so I didn't care where I hid the spare wires. I think this will work nice...newegg shipped it a few days ago...it should be here today or tomorrow. |
