inflation, a month ago you couldn't sell them due to everyone selling them and the vendors having no money.

I understand what you guys are trying to do with the loot tables but this will also make it more difficult for newer players who had to gather up all that leather armor to sell for 4gp a pop in order to save up for their iron plate ^^ that was part of being a noob, however the more advanced players shouldn't really have to scrap along. i'm not saying that they should be able to make 60k an hour by any stretch but a successful pvm should be able to make rent on a small home in a day. keep in mind that most of the player base doesn't play everyday some don't have time others don't have motivation or are discouraged. but the game should be accessible to them as well.

I honestly have no idea what an acceptable number would be but i think i would be a bit upset if i only got 88 gold from a lich ><

p.s. could i see the ugly formula? i have a thing for formulas....

Once i'm happy with the formula, i'll post a "rough approximation" to help people figure it out.
Depending on how it turns out i may post the real one, depends on if the final one has any mathematical flaws that could cause trouble.

And yeah, i'm going to be tweaking it more this weekend when i do another round of patches. I thought up a potentially better way to more accurately assess combat difficulty in relation to a few things. We'll see how it goes.

And as for the lich dropping 88 gold? First off remember that you can sell a lot of what's on the lich, so the 88 gold only matters if you're going for a speed/only gold run. So newbies will make more because they'll sell everything.

Do you remember what they used to drop, because quick calc. If the old "balance" was 60k an hour, and the new one is say, 30k an hour, then the old lich would have had to only drop 160-200 gold for it to be about the same. :P

That being said, the new balance is not 30k an hour, i'm still not set exactly on what it should be, but it will never be lower than the 5k that's required to refresh a small house, so 1 hour of hunting a month will pay those taxes regardless for an experienced player. :)

i don't think I could get 60K an hour hunting anything. Maybe I was hunting the wrong things.

If you went for straight gold, the highest any player could consistently get was 120k/hr solo. And that required killing pretty much nonstop and having an exact route with everything spawned and not wasting time with pks or anything.

Veterans usually earned between 40k-80k an hour when they hunted for gold, usually towards the lower end, so it came out to around 60k/hr average end-game with the old systems.

As i said originally, and as azimuth points out, "Hunting the wrong things" was common. This system fixes that a little, since you'll be able to dispatch easier monsters faster, so they'll have less gold, it'll average out to around the same, depending on items that spawn.

Anyway new formulas should go in this afternoon or evening, so give it a shot and tell me what ya think after then.

kinda driz. i also enjoyed hunting at times just to hunt, but most of my hunts weren't for gold but for supplies,,, or gold for supplies lol

but ya bob i made like 35k an hour average... hunting drakes.. but thats selling diamonds and stuff also...

on anther note.. drakes are SOOOOO much harder now.. and give waaaaaaay less then b4 so its like.. there not even worth hunting. id rather just hunt tons of skeles and average a bit more with less risk.... or liches
+ there more fun .. the only way to have real fun hunting any more is with friends because the difficulty of monsters to me anyway :(

ps. if anyone wants to hunt with me just msn me and ill be happy to hunt im free most of the time long as im not at high school LOL i almost typed when im not high... hehe

only prob i had hunting drakes a few days ago was one turned into a shadow lord so i left.

a bit stronger but one drake is still easy to drop.

greater ooze was a beast though. i bet a shadow would be tough.

yeah bob but just a few will take the other stuffs besides gold why ? cus the overweight, noones wanna kill 4 linch and get overweight cus they took all the loot to get cash, that waste of time.

look ........... i like alot the idea of make new changes for GOOD, i know staff want the better for the shard but u guys got greedy this time. u guys r trying to change alot of stuff but u dont have time or ppl to make all so this is taking waaaaaay to much time and u cant get focus. need to focus just in one problem once is fixed move to another. right now u have the race, loot, skills, etc.. u keep seaching u keep finding but u guys left all at half way.

as a player sometimes is annoying but i undestand..... now the part that is annoying for u lol................. can u or anyone explain me EXACTLY like a damn retarded what i need to make fishing poles ? why cus the other day i login and saw vinorex so i say , hey do u know how to make fishing poles so he got mad and say wtf iori u ask that like million times in forum bla bla bla ... ok he let me see.... so he got some logs i went and buy some bolts, whats the result ... he didnt know how to make it...... sorry men but i have try alot ALOT ............. i really sorry lmao just dont get mad and if u... slap chips

One thing I do agree on, for the time put in to solo a drake, the money used in bandages, and the damage to armor and weapons...skeletons are more profitable. Loot was balanced all around, so I suppose they were designed to drop close to equal amounts over the course of an hour or so.... not too sure if I like that...

lol ya it does even out to be around the same an hour if u know how to hunt... theres a few
not to difficult
but not to easy (well for those who have over 130 str ya there easy but)

that will drop better loot then skeles and drakes... not sure if they loot the same but last time i hunted for gold they rocked.... and im not telling anyone what they are MUAHAHAH but umm

dont slap me :(

Formula updated again, minor tweaks in normal monsters, formula updated for most magic wielding ones. See if that makes it any better given relative difficulties.
