I highly doubt that we would ever get stronger armor as low armor is supposed to be one of the negatives of choosing ranger. I'm pretty sure we if we are lucky we would just get a wider variety. I remember there being some discussion about this before as well and low ar was discussed since rangers are not supposed to stand there and take a hit they are supposed to be moving.... that being said the argument for being able to shoot while running/ horse back could be made with say a 50-60% reduction in accuracy? of course melee weapons should also have this ability. however I don't think casting should as it takes way to much concentration to cast. which may completely over balance everything.... but yeah lighter armor would be great for rangers even if it was just the ringmail that was reduced in weight rather then a new variety of leather armor.

anything with lower weight is positive and also running while shooting would help alot ....but lets face the facts though there is no fights with rangers unless they are getting hit with something ... maybe a bear or a warrior's pitchfork trust me a fight does not start atleast in pvp unless you are in a wall which means movement is very limited. 100% of fights begin and end in walls...rangers are constantly hit whether its against a polly mage, warrior or a summon/pet...ther ei sno avoiding that... unless they can shoot n run which makes it easier....n i think the ranger class deserves that kind of benefit.

yeah I thought of that as well that walls really just negate the advantages of a ranger. is there a dispell potion? sorry I don't pvp so I'm not savy on this at all... what about being able to use stealth in war mode? last I checked (years and years ago) stealth disrupted targeting allowing you to hide between heals and not get hit...dont get me wrong running and shooting would be awesome but it would probably over balance the ranger class...and if warriors could do the same i'm not sure how big of an advantage it would be... does dex effect the speed you run at or just how long you can run for?

yup just how long you run for and you need magery to dispell walls.

Warriors dont have to stop moving to hit with melee, and they have better AR, seems unfair that rangers have to be stationary to hit and take more damage.

I would say to make some armours don't give that stamina penality.
maybe make Shadow armours dont give that penality.
BTW, myth doesn't give any stamina penalities, i already tried it.

id say that this is a flaw

i personally find that myth being an exception.. a major issue.. classes are restricted armor wise for a reason and the whole myth thing is breaking that.. i do realize that certain things are not balanced but if you are going to have a armor restriction.. it needs to be followed..
classes that are not proficient in plate should not get away with using myth plate as an exception... (ex. rangers, necros, ect..)

i wouldnt put on myth plate on my ranger testing out the systems before it is buggy and you will not notice but will lose more stamina....when i noticed i had to switch races and come back to my original race to get rid of the bug.

Rippa, i pmed Bob a while back and he said that myth ignored stat penalties.

And no adam, there should be special properties to an armor like myth. its not like it high in armor or anything

yeh, thats why i said make ranger be able to wear shadow without any stamina penalty.. and they will still cant wear strong armours like valo or w/e

Post subject:  Re: New Armor for Rangers..

thats pretty high armor for not using a shield..
also.. boots and a leather studded gorget may raise that AR rating a point or 2.. im pretty sure u can wear a gorget with a chain tunic.. 100% not tho

also use blue fish to boost your AR... they are so abundant its retarded..

and no myth should not function to ignore the class penalties.. the penalties are set for a reason.. a necro or any other class setup should not be able to ignore their restrictions and equip myth..
it is a flaw in how myth is coded.. sure it should not caues you to fizzle more but that dont mean that "anyone" should be able to wear it without penalties

if you are going to do that you might as well get rid of the class system..
