I'm with you Azimuth. I haven't had magery gain in ages. Bob said he did something with it, but I've been stuck at 64.5 since the beta :/

I used to gain by passively playing a tank-mage. IE, I gained more buffing myself all the time than shooting myself all day long with fireball or magic arrow.

Same goes for healing. It's also in the 60s. Not one gain. No parry gain, and I'm always using a shield. That too is in the 60s. I think there's something screwy with the gain system when you get to the mid-60s, or I'm just bugged.

I agree with the healing gains. Im completely no maxed out at 82 healing. I gained just fine 2 weeks
ago, but now it have just stayed at 82 healing for the last week.....same goes with tactics :|

Yea PvP/PvM gains should have the old rate, the new one is just lame. You don't gain at all either training/hunting...

Ya seems like that what a lot of people are doing to train magery. Although I wish my magery was a
little higher. Im at like 42 and the spells I am using now sucks at gaining any type of gain.....

Wish I was at 50 from the start, but I did healing.

You will be glad you picked healing hopefully resist because if you think magery gains slow you will NOT like how healing and resist gains. :P

Actually i take that back resist just does not gain. :?

Post subject:  Re: Training Magic

I got a few resist gains while training over the last few weeks, but I'm only at about 25 resist, so I think magic arrow can give me a gain.

Well i am at like 70 and i haven't got 1 gain, not 1 since i started hunting again about a year or so ago.

Post subject:  Re: Training Magic

Well I started with 50 resist and 50 healing. Seeing as magery gains rather consistantly until around 60
magery.

So it was either tactics or healing. The obvious choice was to put healing at 50

Doesn't casting 1 spell over and over again kinda defeat the purpose of a passive system that discourages macro'ing?

Post subject:  Re: Training Magic

Ive been training magery with new spells. Everytime I get to a new mage level and am able to use another
spell, train that until a new spell is accessable.

Its pretty frusterating right now because Mana Drain is super slow with gains.

Post subject:  Re: Training Magic

The way the system works is terrible for magery. Once youre high up there in the 80s or 90s the spells you use take up 40 mana or more, and then you only get a few tries.. no more than 3 or 4 to cast a spell and then you gotta wait for all your mana again. And that ends up being like 10 times worse of a wait for people who dont use med like PvM mages or some tank mages when youre trying to recover mana to start casting again.

I dont see a big issue with macroing magery because to get all the regs you need you either got alot of money or you hunted for the regs, which required work at some point. Even if this new system has magery gain with less attempts its not gonna end up being done any faster even if you go hunt or do it actively or w.e, because you hardly get any attempts at casting the spells that make you gain anyway. So frustrating. :x

Post subject:  Re: Training Magic

I agree with Nightmare. I mean right now gaining is fine. I am able to cast the spell im training with at
least 8 times, but like Night pointed out, the higher you get, the more mana is required.

Once someone hits into even the 70+ area, the amount of mana required drains a mages mana. Its even
worse when a tank or a pvm mage cant med their mana back.

I really dont any tank or pvm mage in training is going to go mix or buy 100+ mana pots so that he/she can
train their magery with spells that take over 30+ mana.

Not like I have enough mana as it is to be able to cast those spells. At most I can cast them once and
have to wait 2 min for it to regain, then repeat using the spell once or twice, then wait for my mana to
come back.

That will get old real fast in my opinion. Might as well just stop magery when I hit those 30 mana sucking
spells altogether.
