since they don't really "spawn" somewhere, or are able to be made... I guess someone was given by staff at a given moment. not to mention that others have had their "millions" confiscated. Either way you have no right to having an exclusive item of obscure origin. even if it was of some weird personal wish for having people wear different colours, who gave you the right to choose anyway? did u destroy the tub?

ya i had my hands on ellebs rare dye tub at one point lol..

but judas. rare items can be handed out in events larger then a certain number....
and im sure this is where they came from...
and if i remeber correctly. black dye tubs could be made b4. like.. b4 u started playing.. and no one really cared for them cuz it just wasnt the thing then... so now u cant make them. there rare..

Ya know i take a lot of flack from a lot of people, most of who should know better due to age, but i really can't stand assaults on my character.

Yes, i'm a packrat. Everyone knows it. It's kinda been what i've been doing for the past 8 years. Yes, i collect money just to buy up rares, because i am a packrat. Hell i'm still looking for a red toy boat from the boat battles event to complete my boat battles decorative table in my house. BTW if anyone has one for sale, let me know.

But that doesn't mean stuff i have is "obscure" or that i have a "right" to it. The pure white, pure black, the muted snow, and the ice dye tubs were all sold at GM hosted auctions over the years. Also there was a green colored one but no one ever had a proper name for that one, and i'm sure i'm forgetting one or two, i don't have my history notes on my laptop. As people have already mentioned, shooter and elleb and others have all owned some of these tubs at time. Many of the rare tubs have been lost in house decays or people just leaving and it sitting on their account. As with other rares(like fire swords, easter eggs, snowglobes, etc).

If you want history lessons on almost any other rare item on the shard, ask me in pm. I have a pretty complete list of what rares are available and where/when/why they were created. I have a somewhat complete lists of current owners for some stuff, but it's hard to track if people don't volunteer info or i notice someone having it.

So get off your high horse. I never claimed divine right, I voiced my opinion on an issue, and as a humorous sidenote related an anectdote that most people know that i've done in my personal quest of that opinion. That doesn't say it should stay that way, i just figured it'd give people a laugh, and was a disclaimer as to my opinion. Yes i put my money where my mouth was in buying those tubs, but that was my personal choice, and a set of transactions between players. I think i bought it from heartless, i might be wrong. again, i don't have my notes here. I was NOT the original buyer at auction of these tubs. I almost never have enough money when auction comes around to get the really rare stuff.


As for the people who could craft black dye tubs, that was actually a bug, similar to the hair dye bug. And any tub created with that bug kinda self-destructed. Which is why you will find a few people with black tubs, but they won't dclick them or they'll destroy themselves.

We have 3 suggestions that i can see:

1. Craftable Individual Color 1 time use Rare Hair Dyes
2. Rare ingrediants for the dyes
3. Requirements for having certain hair dyes work on you.

So as it stands, if we do all 3, we will have hair dyes that will be uncommon/rare, and have the extremely notorious colors have pk, karma, fame, or other requirements to wear.

Sound ok to everyone?
If not, discuss what parts you want to alter.

damn 1 time sounds harsh.. specially because when you want a hair cut, it always resets ur hair to grey. which is GAY
so if u want pig tails, itll just grow out to long hair,, and ur gonna have to collect all again?
this doesnt support diversity, as everyone will end up saying F it and go with long hair as seen lol
so id say when u get hair cut. either dont change the color when the barber cuts
OR
dont make styles grow out... like they do currently
and 1 time still sounds harsh... specially when ur not gonna have specific requirements known right away...

Either keep the hair from growing longer and longer
OR
Allow the person to change the style of the hair w/o changing the color :wink:

Well iw ould think that if you have a rare hair colour and you wanted to keep it you just don't cut your hair plain and simple. But it all depends on how rare we are talking too. So rare that you will actually be abler to make it maybe 1 or 2 times in your obsidian career? Or rare but if you work at it you could get them every week or so.

Here is my idea - let me know if you like it because I have been thinking about this for awhile.

At 90+ tailoring a tailor can create Special Dyes that come in a variety of colors. Although these
colors are not rare because a regular dye tub can produce the same color (or close to it) but not
as vibrant or "special" :roll:

I propose that, like a tailor needs oil flasks to make dyes for clothes, we can create a flask that
creates a special dye that is allowed to be used on the hair. If you chose, you can also raise the
skill level of this to say, 95+

Now you can limit the colors of what the hair colors can be. Maybe have like the dominant colors in
the world (red, blue, yellow, brown etc.) and use them for the hair dyes. Yet, allow a variation of the
colors (dark red, sea blue, pumpkin orange etc.) which allows you to have more choices on each color.

Furthermore, if this is allowed then we need to mention the hair itself. Allow players to change the hair
color they have without ruining the color itself. Like in real life, when someone receives a hair cut their
color does not go to a "default style" it stays the same, but just has the hair style change.

Well let me know what you guys think :wink:

Or we can put the black hair aside and focus on getting different colors. Although it seems that
people want black hair, maybe focusing on having more vibrant colors would be a bigger plus than
having black.

Just my own opinion :wink:
